The Pluto Full Moon (Part II)

The New Moon and the following Full Moon form a syzygy (pair). Astrologers like to think of the New Moon as containing a seed message which reaches fruition at the Full Moon. If we are up to it we reach a sort of enlightenment, failing which a disintegration (death) is likely to follow. To understand this recall the ancient legend of Buddha Purnima (Full Moon). This is the biggest day for Buddhists because on this day, it is believed three important events of the Buddha's life took place: his birth, his attaining enlightenment, and his death, Paranirvana.

In my analysis of the current New Moon [1], I explained how at the early stages of our development the focusing one's energies upon cultural values excludes far more than they include (me vs you). Later, there arises in the consciousness a desire to reformulate at a new level much that had been taken for granted because it indeed originally had been an evolutionary necessity.

As we mature, we need to cast off previous models of reality and reinterpret past experiences, seeing them more clearly as metaphors having deeper meaning than we saw when we were previously absorbed in self-establishment.

At the Full Moon [2] stage, we need to graduate from “tribal consciousness” to “cosmic consciousness”. In a sense, the timeline splits at the Full Moon.

The tension between Pluto and the Libra Full Moon may resurrect core relational patterns and themes that have been operating below the surface of awareness within dynamics with others. Feelings that have been buried or we have tried to be in denial of may erupt and demand attention.

Perhaps a look at the asteroids that pepper the Full Moon, may help us understand some of the possible ways it may manifest.

Sun-Moon: Orpheus; Pluto; Eros; Sisyphus; Memoria

Orpheus/Pluto/Eros/Memoria/Sisyphus

You may hear of near death experiences (Orpheus) that "utterly changed" (Pluto) a person (enlightenment) or of folks who are facing death due to some form of cancer (disintegration). Orpheus is also "regret"--so "wishing things had been different" may be instrumental in causing people to seek answers within and change their lives. Relationships with former (Memoria) lovers and friends(Eros) may restart (Sisyphus). Of course, Eros is also "the will to live, the will to survive" so you may see that some people are taken to task ; they're "called on the carpet" (by the gods) so that they recognize how important their LIFE is. This is a potent combination of energies; I think you'll see that others feel "pushed to their own personal limits" because of a loss--they have to go through things on almost a soul or core level--and that, really, was part of the reason that the loss occurred and was to be part of their life experience.

The Sabian symbol for the Sun at the Full Moon says it all:

PHASE 27 (ARIES 27°): THROUGH IMAGINATION A LOST OPPORTUNITY IS REGAINED.

KEYNOTE: Revision of attitude and inner revaluation.
