Gyanvapi masjid: Eclipse revives an ancient dispute

In Varanasi, one of the world's oldest living cities, Hindus and Muslims have prayed close to each other in a temple and a mosque that sit cheek by jowl. The heavily-guarded complex points to its uneasy history. The Gyanvapi mosque is built on the ruins of the Vishwanath temple, a grand 16th Century Hindu shrine. The temple was partially destroyed in 1669 on the orders of Aurangzeb, the sixth Mughal emperor. Now the place is in the throes of a dispute which could stoke fresh tensions in Hindu-majority India, where Muslims are the largest religious minority. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-61476741

Eclipses have a way of bringing up the past to help resolve issues that have remained unaddressed. By back-tracking along the trail of eclipses we find that the May 16th 2022 lunar eclipse at [25sc] is exactly at the same position as the lunar eclipse of May 15th 1669 also at [25sc] when the temple was destroyed. A map for this eclipse drawn for Varanasi has it prominently placed on the meridian as part of a Grand Cross with Saturn - Poseidon - Cupido. Coincidentally, Saturn [24aq] is also at the same position as its current value. Moreover,a keyword for Poseidon is “religion” and for Cupido it is “building” so that in the current context we are looking at a temple or a mosque!

Presented here is the horoscope of India based on its independence from British colonial rule. As always, planets on the angles are the ones to focus on. Mark the prominent placement of the Saturn-Pluto on the IC (rules a nation’s history) amid the stars of Cancer. Cancer can indicate antiquated patterns, personal and collective dogmatic belief structures that perpetuate stasis. Classically they are considered to be unfortunate stars with a somewhat stubborn nature The theme of these stars impels our emergence out of the antiquated entrapments we had been living in, whether leaving physical dwellings or antiquated structures of consciousness.

So why is this placement in India’s chart significant now? Well, for one thing the progressed solar arc Ascendant [13le] (evolving consciousness) has reached a conjunction to the radix Saturn-Pluto [13le] (history). Evolving consciousness of the people must confront problems rooted in the past (4th house).

The lunar eclipse of May 16th has aligned with the radix nodal axis on the horizon of India’s chart with transit Saturn squaring the nodes. In previous posts [1][2] I explained that this requires a release of putrefying obsessions  symbolized by the Scorpio South Node. Coppock wrote that the third face of Scorpio contains a “formula of liberation, for if we were not capable of laying our desires to rest, returning them to pure energy, we would be enchained forever, prisoners of what we once held dear.”

The Sabian symbol of the radix North Node [28ta11] indicates the way forward.

RESPECTING OTHER POINTS OF VIEW

Understanding someone else's way of being and seeing life requires more objectivity about our own opinions and beliefs. Mature understanding arises out of seeing the other point of view, and the deepening of wisdom moves towards having less staunch opinions on matters. New experiences test our maturity of wisdom; do we react in a knee-jerk manner and take up a posture, or can we work collaboratively with another to deepen our knowledge? [3]
