Quite often the mundane house in which an eclipse falls is where its action takes place. At Atlanta, Georgia, the May 16th lunar eclipse fell in the 11th house.

By association, the 11th house rules members of the Parliament or Senate so that the eclipse with its Scorpio-Aquarius square speaks of a struggle between the criminal tendencies of the Scorpion and the rational and civilized approach of truth seeking Aquarius.

But why now? Well there are at least two reasons why the eclipse was triggered. First, on June 3rd Mercury stationed direct at [26ta] conjunct the eclipse Sun [25ta]. The second reason is seen in the chart below which shows that on June 4th the progressed meridian aligns with the eclipse axis thereby triggering it.
