Is Italy EU’s latest problem child?

Trying to decipher world events in the light of cosmic phenomena is an exciting prospect for astrologers. The current New Moon [2li48] occurs conjunct the Super Galactic Center (ZS); Tropical Longitude: 02 Libra 03 33.

Wow! Doesn’t that sound like a tyrant king feeding off his subjects!! Now place the New Moon on the Davison Relationship Chart (DRC) of Italy[2] and the EU[3]. It falls bang on the Ascendant [1li] activating the composite Vulcanus [3cn]/Pluto [27vi] square.
In her book The Orders of Light, Martha Wescott interprets Vulcanus-Pluto as under:
Vulcanus-Pluto: to face coercions in connection with finance; to be willing to do whatever it takes to gain the upper hand, dominate or influence others; to see control as a contest of strength.
The New Moon has occurred at the Autumn Equinox with the Sun conjunct a retrograde Mercury that is preparing to go direct on Oct.2. Here is the chart for Mercury station direct at the midpoint between Brussels and Rome. Once again we notice the presence of the powerful Saturn-Uranus square aligned with the horizon axis. The square is about freedom vs control and I’ve discussed this extensively in previous posts [4][5].
To complete the picture, the same square aligns with the meridian in the EU lunar return chart.
