The phases of the Moon are among the most reliable indicators of events on earth. A Moon phase can act as a local “step down transformer” for powerful energies generated by far away stars and planets that it aspects. To understand how their energies are focused at any place of interest astrologers routinely draw charts of monthly lunations. Here is the chart for the Sep. 11th Full Moon drawn for midpoint of Baku and Yerevan, the capitals of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Notice that the Full Moon forms a significant Grand Cross with the horizon axis and Mars (war god) on the descendant.

Mars [11ge23] is conjunct the star Aldebaran [10ge06], alpha Taurus which was part of the Chinese asterism Py. Astrologers warned that when Py trembled or dimmed, troops would be put on alert: thus it was called “The Announcer of the Invasion at the Border”[1].

Among events connected with the stars that form the backdrop to the Full Moon, Diana Rosenberg includes “battles” and writes:

These stars were transited at the history wrenching 1066 Battle of Hastings: William the Conqueror defeated the defending British fyrd and took over England; at the 1709 Battle of Poltava when Russians under Peter the Great repelled a powerful Swedish invasion; in 1853 when US Commodore Matthew Perry, backed by a fleet of warships went ashore at Edo (Tokyo) to “persuade” the reclusive Japanese to sign a treaty of trade; at the Crimean War’s 1854 Charge of the Light Brigade; at the Aries ingress of 1914, the year WWI began and several others.
