New Moon Nudges Us To Make Better Choices

The New Moon in Libra opposite a Jupiter retrograde in Aries on September 25 makes it ideal for reflection upon the path we chose in the past and the possible mistakes we made in our over enthusiasm.

The Scales of the Libra New Moon amplify themes of balance and correction and the necessity of taking the time needed to think through options and issues in order to distill the essence of what needs our focus.

The New Moon [2li48] is conjunct the newly discovered centaur Rhiphonos [2 li18]. About Rhiphonos, Benjamin Adamah writes:

Rhiphonos learns to rediscover his own passions and points out that ambitions, aspirations and passion must be synchronised if our course is to be the right one and the path of our heart. In the Rhiphonos       process there is at first a notion of being stuck or an impasse, then an awareness of a farce, dead end or dormant state or wrong turn that was taken earlier in life, followed by a decision to take the leap to another course, another attitude, by means of which a different actuality, life situation and future is created.

Rhiphonos either brings a refreshing liberating energy for those who believe in the old credo “God helps the brave” or a shameful and weak moment for those who are afraid and let a good opportunity to change their life for the better pass - often with severe consequences in later life like a smoldering feeling of shame over one’s own cowardice that permanently poisons one’s own remaining life or that of others and perhaps even worse: missing the goal and essence of one’s current incarnation.

The New Moon is ruled by Venus [26vi] placed in an area influenced by the stars Benatnasch of the Great Bear (Ursa Major) and Zavijava of Virgo about which Nick Fiorenza writes:

Benatnasch is of the old totalitarian governing stream of consciousness and Zavijava is of naïve followers of this stream of consciousness. Although a star of Virgo, Zavijava lies outside the realm of Virgo proper, before the head of the Virgin. It does not offer the clarity and purity of awareness common to the rest of the Virgo stars. Zavijava is of a passive and submissive character, articulating the blind and naïve followers of the Benatnasch directive--those who are swayed by the diversionary dramatics of their manipulative leaders and believe in the miss-information they are being fed.

Venus in a sharp trine with Pluto can bring penetrating depth of insight into behavior patterns that have been operating under the surface so that the Rhiphonos New Moon can help us return to integrity and get off the path where we had been following false leaders. On October 5th, Mercury will be stationing direct conjunct Venus’ New Moon position. This can provide the impetus to revise our attitude.

As some examples of different responses to the New Moon we look at news from Ukraine and Turkey. Both at Kiev and Ankara, the New Moon-Jupiter opposition aligns with the meridian. From what we know so far, Ukraine continues to be swayed by its US masters while Turkey is moving to align with the SCO and distancing itself from NATO/US.

For those who take the opportunity the New Moon offers, its Sabian symbol promises a bright future.

Libra 3 (2° - 3°): The dawn of a new day everything changed

A person who has gained awareness of the ideal and knows fully and clearly where is their powerful, unassailable centre is inevitably the major creative force in their own lives. Just by being who they are they initiate significant creative changes in their world.

PS:

It would be incorrect to say that all of Ukraine made the wrong choice at the New Moon. The New Moon chart at Kiev has the TNP Cupido [3cp22] completing a T-square with the New Moon - Jupiter opposition. The breakaway Donbass republics of Lugansk and Donetsk have made the correct choice that is so elegantly symbolized by the Sabian symbol for Cupido.

Capricorn 4 (3° - 4°): A party entering a large canoe

A social group more strongly than ever reveals its homogeneity and common will when it decides to move away from its familiar habitat. The zodiacal sign Capricorn brings this common will to a focus in concrete actions. It does so in terms of socio-political expediency and under a definite type of executive direction.
