'Europe Is A Garden, Rest Of The World Is Jungle'

THE GARDEN OF THE TUILERIES

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has come under fire for saying in a recent speech (on Oct.13) given in Belgium that “Europe is a garden” while the outside world is a “jungle”. There are growing calls for him to retract the analogy and to issue an apology over what many are saying was a speech tinged with racist and imperialistic overtones. He was addressing an audience of his own diplomatic corps. https://bit.ly/3g2NX5E

The European Union (EU) horoscope (1 Nov. 1993; 0:00 hrs; CET; Brussels) is going through its first Saturn return which I have discussed extensively in previous posts. Here we examine the chart for the Saturn return to see if it provides any clues to Joseph Borrell’s statement.

As always planets and stars on the angles are the ones to focus on. On the descendant is the TNP Admetus for which Blake Finley provides the following keywords:

Self-absorption; isolation; disconnection; narrowness of perspective.

On the MC are stars of Virgo - the Virgin. A virgin signifies inviolable purity. Diana Rosenberg links the stars here with “bigotry, intolerance and exclusionary elitism”.

Borrell’s remarks appeared akin to the ancient and medieval distinction between "civilization" of empire and "barbarian" lands outside those political and cultural bounds.

But who could have thought that the Sabian symbol for Admetus [2ge18] would be so perfect!

PHASE 63 (GEMINI 3°): THE GARDEN OF THE TUILERIES IN PARIS.

Parisians met, promenaded, celebrated and relaxed in this luxurious garden of the Renaissance period. They were seen as selfish, lording it over others. In England, so much of the national architectural heritage was kept alive by aristocrats and fabulously wealthy families, very often at the expense of the underprivileged.

On Oct. 13 when Borrell was making his speech transit Moon was moving over Admetus [2ge18].

Can it just be chance that Borrell uses the symbol of a manicured garden and the Sabian turns out be exactly that? Not really. For the astrologer, coincidence is the visible aspect of a more pervasive framework of design that underlies all experiences.
