The ostensible goal of the operation is to provide “support and assistance to the Special Operations of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces and National Police of Peru,” including in regions recently engulfed in violence. Unbeknown, it seems, to most people in Peru and the US (considering the paucity of media coverage in both countries), US military personnel will soon be landing in Peru. The plenary session of Peru’s Congress last Thursday (May 18) authorised the entry of US troops onto Peruvian soil with the ostensible purpose of carrying out “cooperation activities” with Peru’s armed forces and national police.

Since December 2022, supporters of the ousted president of Peru, Pedro Castillo have engaged in a series of political protests against the government of the current president Dina Boluarte and the Congress of Peru. The demonstrations lack centralized leadership and originated primarily among grassroots movements and social organizations on the left to far-left, as well as indigenous communities, who feel politically disenfranchised.
This is eerily similar to events in Pakistan where former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested as he appeared in a court in the capital, Islamabad, to face corruption allegations, sparking protests across the country.
The most significant planetary combination in May is Jupiter in Taurus in a square to both Mars and Pluto, a position that amplifies the intensity rather than mitigates it. All three of these planets are in Fixed Signs, which means no one is inclined to surrender the certainty of their positions. We've been in this pernicious energy since May 17, when the Jupiter/Pluto square was exact and separating. On May 20, the Mars/Pluto opposition was exact and separating.
While this configuration affects the entire world, it is particularly active in places it aligns with the angles in relevant mundane charts (e.g. charts for lunations, planetary ingresses, exact planetary aspects etc).Presented here is (a) the chart for the exact Mars-Pluto opposition drawn for Lima, Peru (b) the chart for Jupiter’s Taurus ingress at Islamabad, Pakistan. Notice the near perfect alignment of the T-square with the angles in both cases.
The coupling of Mars and Pluto, the two rulers of Scorpio has a reputation in many textbooks for all sorts of nasty things such as violence and obsessive desire, repression and cruelty, sadism and rape. Astrological symbolism expresses this by assigning Scorpio to Mars, the fiery and aggressive god, lord of violent and dramatic catastrophes; thus immediately giving Scorpio the central significance of a breakdown in equilibrium by the irruption from the shadows of repressed forces.
Mars is interpreted as a symbol of masculinity, self-assertion and aggression. Understandably there is often a deep fear of the more primitive urges represented by Mars. On the other hand, Pluto in astrology represents all that we repress, sometimes these are traits that we need for our growth. The psychological law states that what we suppress we will meet outside as fate often through unpleasant circumstances. Aggression and ruthlessness are not at all bad traits in the appropriate circumstances. Survival is one of nature's primary goals and Mars-Pluto can bring awareness of the need to express aggression and ruthlessness for survival.
