Passengers aboard the Carnival Sunshine had a nightmarish experience as the cruiseliner attempted to return to its home port in Charleston on Friday. The cruise ship was battered by rough seas and powerful winds, flooding the lower decks. The situation worsened late Friday night into early Saturday when passengers saw crew members putting on life jackets. https://rb.gy/eg9a4
Jupiter is the planet of abundance and aristocracy. When placed in Venus ruled Taurus, it can signify material wealth and luxury. To this add Jupiter’s association with ships and we can see how the combination can refer to a luxury liner like the Carnival Sunshine.
The “hidden violence and secret competition lying within the quest for luxury” impoverishes the masses. This is the shadow side of Jupiter in Taurus’ compulsion to acquire wealth with which we are confronted by the Jupiter-Pluto square. Pluto is in Aquarius. In particular, Aquarius is the sign of social justice and community. “This sign strives to implement systems and structures that are more accessible, equal, and sustainable for all,” says Houdeshell. With Pluto’s intense presence in Aquarius, we can expect a push for total transformation—however messy that might be—in order to bring about that Aquarian ideal of equity.
During Pluto’s travels through Aquarius we are being prompted to take a look at our current structures, norms, and dogmas, and to dismantle the systems that are no longer serving the greater good.
Astrologers routinely draw charts for monthly lunations, planetary ingresses, exact planetary aspects etc to understand how they affect events at any place. As always planetary combinations brought to the angles in these charts (horizon and meridian) are the ones that are most influential. Presented here is the chart for Mars’ ingress into Leo on May 20th just a day after the reported incident on the Carnival Sunshine near its home port in Charleston on Friday. Notice the T-square’s alignment with the meridian.
Can it a coincidence that on the IC with the South Node [3sc] is the star Miaplacidus of Argo - the Celestial Ship? In her book Secrets of the Ancient Skies, Diana Rosenberg lists maritime disasters with Miaplacidus (see images below).
