Two women were stabbed to death in a shocking, seemingly random knife rampage at a Hong Kong shopping centre on Friday, before the man who attacked them was subdued and arrested when police arrived. https://tinyurl.com/bhtmnsvu
Understanding the world around us depends on our power to perceive the hidden meaning behind events. The tragic incidents in Delhi and Hongkong offer an opportunity to get to bottom of what the universe is trying to reveal at this time.
A chart for (a) the Full Moon at Delhi (b) the Waxing Gibbous Moon at Hongkong (see images above) brings the Venus-Pluto opposition very significantly to the horizon axis.
A Pluto-Venus contact is about the Plutonian process of healing and transformation within relationships. But it may awaken intense fears, compulsion or rage.
In a March 2015 post on a Delhi rape case BBC airs ‘’India’s Daughter’’ at Venus-Pluto square, I wrote:
When Pluto is in aspect with Venus, he slowly creeps up on her and pounces. Of all the planets – Pluto is the most secretive, his motives are never immediately apparent – and there is something in the essence of Venus which makes her almost always ripe for ambush. The myth of the Rape of Persephone is essentially an account of the dynamics of Venus-Pluto aspects. https://tinyurl.com/572d3njc
Astrologer Hiroki Niizato explains the healing potential of Venus-Pluto:
The initial response for a Venus Pluto person might be to avoid feeling uncomfortable emotions by refusing to acknowledge the existence of psychic wounds, perhaps projecting them onto their partner (as in “Why do I always attract partners with so many emotional issues?”).
A wiser, more courageous response is to embrace painful feelings as they come up, trusting in your ability to choose the right partner to go through these kinds of healing crises with. When you’re able to share what you’re feeling honestly without blaming yourself or your partner, you’re expressing the positive potential of the Venus-Pluto aspect.
Whether you have a natal or transit Pluto-Venus contact, the Plutonian process of healing and transformation within relationships may awaken intense fears, compulsion or rage. If you’re indeed experiencing such healing crisis, there are several steps you can take that might make your journey a little easier:
Recognize the existence of psychological trauma in your life. In a child’s psyche, the standard response to trauma is repression – the mind isn’t equipped to handle the pain, so it puts a lid on the emotion until you’re strong enough to deal with it (i.e. adulthood.)
Recognize that the intense emotion you’re feeling now probably has nothing to do with your present circumstance. It’s far more likely that your current relationship triggered the buried emotions of fear, anger or abandonment that you’ve felt a long time ago.
Recognize that the emotions are coming up now for a reason: You’re strong enough to feel them now. If you have the courage to fully embrace the painful emotions and integrate them into your being, you’ll experience profound healing and transformation.
This is the domain of shadow work, of integrating the emotional energies that have been lost to repression.
The April 20th Aries Solar Eclipse (now triggered by a square from transit Venus) can usher in a potent season of new beginnings. The square between the eclipse and Pluto means we will need to pay attention to places where we are holding on too tightly to past attachments, ideals, or identities that need to be laid to rest.
Rather than resisting the regeneration of Pluto, be curious about however you are feeling you need to shed past identities or goals or make significant alterations to previous plans and ambitions.
