Volcanic eruptions at Sun-Pluto opposition

A volcanic eruption has sent lava and smoke pouring out of the side of Mount Fagradalsfjall, near Iceland's capital Reykjavik. It comes after intense earthquake activity in the area. Local authorities said on Monday there was no imminent hazard to people in the region. https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-europe-66161173

The Karangetang volcano on Siau Island off the coast of Indonesia's North Sulawesi erupted on Monday morning, with the authorities warning locals and tourists to stay away from the eruption area. Head of the country's Geological Agency Sugeng Mujiyanto said in a statement that the volcano, consisting of two active summit craters, has launched hot ashes as far as 2 km to the southeast, Xinhua reported. https://tinyurl.com/bb8h2k4h

 What is backward Causation?

Sometimes also called retro-causation. A common feature of our world seems to be that in all cases of causation, the cause and the effect are placed in time so that the cause precedes its effect temporally. Our normal understanding of causation assumes this feature to such a degree that we intuitively have great difficulty imagining things differently. The notion of backward causation, however, stands for the idea that the temporal order of cause and effect is a mere contingent feature and that there may be cases where the cause is causally prior to its effect but where the temporal order of the cause and effect is reversed with respect to normal causation, i.e., there may be cases where the effect temporally, but not causally, precedes its cause. http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/causation-backwards/

It is well known to astrologers that the influence of an eclipse can occur prior to its actual occurrence. ‘Backwards’ causation is not as bizarre as it might appear and is well known in modern physics as the above reference explains. So while most astrologers confine the idea of ‘backwards’ causation only to eclipse, it is actually true for any planetary phenomena as we shall see here.

On 22 July, the Sun will be opposite Pluto. Charts for the exact opposition drawn for the location of (a) Mount Fagradalsfjall (b) the Karangetang volcano have the opposition aligned very significantly with the angles. Transit Mercury [29cn] on 10/11  July moved over the Sun-Pluto opposition triggering it about 12 days in advance.

About Pluto, Richard Tarnas writes:

To summarize the consensus of contemporary astrologers: Pluto is associated with the principle of elemental power, depth, and intensity; with that which compels, empowers, and intensifies whatever it touches, sometimes to overwhelming and catastrophic extremes; with the primordial instincts, libidinal and aggressive, destructive and regenerative, volcanic and cathartic, eliminative, transformative, ever-evolving; with the biological processes of birth, sex, and death, the cycle of death and rebirth; with upheaval, breakdown, decay, and fertilization; violent purgatorial discharge of pent-up energies, purifying fire; situations of life-and-death extremes, power struggles, all that is titanic, potent, and massive. Pluto represents the underworld and underground in all senses: elemental, geological, instinctual, political, social, sexual, urban, criminal, mythological, demonic. It is the dark, mysterious, taboo, and often terrifying reality that lurks beneath the surface of things, beneath the ego, societal conventions, and the veneer of civilization, beneath the surface of the Earth, that is periodically unleashed with destructive and transformative force. Pluto impels, burns, consumes, transfigures, resurrects..

We know that Pluto rules volcanic eruptions and we can see examples of that in the eruption of the two volcanoes on the same date, thousands of miles apart. But as Tarnas points out Pluto symbolizes many other processes deep inside us. Shouldn’t we be contemplating about what it might mean for us individually and as a collective.

Finally, as more food for thought, here is the Sun-Pluto opposition chart drawn for Vilnius, Lithuania where the NATO summit on Ukraine is currently taking place. Here too the opposition is significantly square the meridian and the TNP Zeus (war) and dwarf planet Eris (disagreements).

Can it be a coincidence that the Sabian symbol for Pluto appears to refer to a secret meeting of world leaders!

PHASE 300 (CAPRICORN 30°): A SECRET MEETING OF MEN RESPONSIBLE FOR EXECUTIVE DECISIONS IN WORLD AFFAIRS.

Capricorn symbolizes systems and structures which seek to preserve their dominance at any cost despite their hidden frailties and fallibilities. Pluto’s transit through Capricorn has been serving to free us from enslavement to these institutions. Individually, it asks us to address fears that prevent us from living a fully integrous life. We compromise our core integrity, whenever we let society make poor decisions for us or when we betray a trust, betray our personal values, or betray that which we know is the truth for ourselves.
