The White House has welcomed a "historic" move by the EU to initiate membership talks with Ukraine. For Kiev, this is a major breakthrough which it has been lobbying hard for throughout nearly two years of the Russian invasion, which has served to fast-track something previously only thought impossible, given that Ukraine remains ranked among the top most corrupt countries in Europe and the world. http://tinyurl.com/yeyrudux
Readers are urged to read a previous post [1] on the EU. Clearly the EU did not wake up from a kind of addiction to following a destructive path.
In the EU chart solar arc progressed Moon [24ge] makes hard aspects to Kronos[24ge]- Bacchus[25vi] - Siva[26sa]. With Neptune [24pi] having stationed direct on Dec. 6 and now receiving a square from the Sun [24sa], the stage is set for a trigger to the solar arc Moon progression. (Recall the Sabian for Neptune calls for the need to remove corrupt leaders).

Authority figures remain in denial, attempting to ignore the consequences of their actions. The coming period is likely to see the self-destructive component of their addictive behaviour.
Here is EU’s solar return chart progressed to Dec. 15, the date of the news. Notice the near perfect alignment of the Venus[22vi]-Moon[23vi]-Neptune[25pi] with the meridian also acting as a trigger to the solar arc Moon progression.

Finally, we note that the EU decision was the result of Hungary caving in to pressure from the US and other members. In Hungary’s chart [2], transit Mercury has just stationed retrograde (revision of attitude) conjunct Hungary’s Ascendant [7cp] - Uranus[2cp] Saturn[8cp] -Neptune[9cp].
Ebertin interprets this combination as: A resolve to resign oneself to the inevitable, the abandonment of resistance.
