Astrology of the Houthi blockade of the Red Sea

Perseus saves Andromeda

The Houthis began their attacks in the Red Sea after Israel began to bombard Gaza in response to the massive Hamas-led attacks on Oct. 7. that killed 1,200.

We cannot hope to understand the magnitude of the challenge astrology presents to the accepted view of the universe without learning a little of its symbolic language. For astrologers Saturn stands for obstructions and delays so that when it is placed in Pisces, the zodiacal sign associated with the sea or ocean, it can give rise to obstructions or delays to ships and sea lanes.

Here is Israel’s[1] current solar return chart. Notice the Saturn (in Pisces) square Admetus (in Gemini) straddling the horizon axis. The TNP Admetus which apart from obstructions and delays also rules inventory is placed in Gemini, a sign ruled by Mercury, the god of trade and commerce. So putting the pieces together we can see the possibility of obstruction to maritime trade and commerce in Israel’s solar return chart.

MV Galaxy Leader was the first commercial ship seized by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis. The Bahamas flagged car carrier was taken to the port of Hodeidah in the Houthi controlled north of Yemen after being boarded at sea on Nov. 19 by commandos with the group.

The seizure of MV Galaxy Leader took place just 8 days before a Full Moon which fell not only on the meridian at Tel-Aviv but also on the horizon axis of Israel’s solar return chart activating the Saturn-Admetus square.

But as always, mundane charts can reveal much more. As a sign Pisces has come to rule weak and helpless people so that harsh and tyrannical Saturn here can point to difficulties faced by the weak. And more specifically for the stars that conjoin Saturn, Diana Rosenberg lists, “violent intolerance: mistreatment of minorities and attacks on helpless, subordinate peoples” and writes: (see red bracketed text)

And next we notice that the stars of Perseus conjoin the TNP Admetus. In mythology, Perseus is the Greek hero who comes to the rescue of the chained and helpless Princess Andromeda about to devoured by Cetus- the Sea Monster - a symbol of all the hatred and negativity that holds back the evolution of mankind.

Finally take a look at Yemen’s national chart. Transit Admetus is conjunct Yemen’s radix Sun [1ge] on the MC square Saturn [1ge] on the descendant clearly indicating who the mythological hero Perseus is in this case!

PS: The TNP Admetus is also “a narrowing” or “a constriction” . The Bab-el-Mandeb is narrow strait. It connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and by extension the Indian Ocean.
