The US Air Force late in the day Sunday confirmed that one of its own active duty members was the man who set himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington DC in order to protest the Gaza war. The Washington Metropolitan Police Department said in the aftermath: "The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 3500 block of International Drive, NW, at approximately 1:00 p.m., to assist the United States Secret Service after an individual set themselves on fire in front of an embassy in the block." Tragic events like these shock our conscience and we are left wondering why someone would take such a drastic step. Astrology provides answers if we are willing to look at the relevant charts.
Transit Sun, Mercury and Saturn [8pi55] are taking turns to form a dynamic square aspect to the Sibly Uranus [8ge55]. Recall that Uranus is the rebel or someone who simply diasgrees with the way the existing authorities work. so that it is not surprising to hear of this news. But more significantly among the stars that form the backdrop to the transiting planets are those of Pegasus (the flying horse) and Phoenix (the Firebird). Here Pegasus can be looked upon as a metaphor for aircrafts (and by association an airman) while Phoenix, the Firebird has an obvious connnection to immolation!
To complete the picture, the current New Moon chart at Washington DC has Uranus on the MC square the New Moon which is conjunct the asteroids Icarus and Orpheus.
