Astrology of the Taiwan earthquake

A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 - the strongest earthquake in 25 years to hit the island- followed by a smaller quake with a magnitude of 6.5 struck off Taiwan’s eastern coast Wednesday, according to the US Geological Survey, prompting tsunami warnings in southern Japan.

The first quake, with a magnitude of 7.4, struck at 7:58pm ET (7:58am local time) and had an epicenter located about 18 kilometers (11 miles) south of the city of Hualien and shook buildings in the capital Taipei.

Astrologers make a distinction between primary and secondary causes of events. For example a transit at the exact time of an event is a secondary cause much like the minute or second hand of the clock. On the other hand a primary cause, the hour hand, can be an eclipse, ingress, lunation or exact planetary aspect etc. These events can be close or far removed in time from the actual incident.

A chart for the time of the event drawn for Hualien has the forming Jupiter-Uranus conjunction rising. The exact conjunction will take place at [22ta] on April 21. This can be looked upon as the minute hand of the cosmic clock.

Next we look at the hour hand. Earthquakes are found to be associated with eclipses and important planetary conjunctions and oppositions. This is especially true when important planetary combinations aspect the angles. A chart for the March 25 lunar eclipse for Hualien has the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction on the MC making hard aspect to the eclipse luminaries.

What is very fascinating about astrology is that there are never any loose ends. There appears to be a cosmic orchestra playing a symphony in which the planets appear to play their part in a kind of co-ordinated drama. Presented below are charts for (a) the sidereal Capricorn ingress and (b) its progression to the date of the quake.

In (a) Uranus in Taurus is on the decendant and in (b) it has reached the IC (earth) implying it is triggered. One obvious manifestation of Uranus (the mover and shaker) in Taurus (earth) is simply earthquakes.
