Manmohan Singh - India’s Economic Miracle Man Passes Away

India’s 13th prime minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, who passed away on Thursday night after losing consciousness at his home in New Delhi, will be noted as one of the most historically significant people to lead his country. He opened up the economy, gained America’s confidence in India in the post-Cold War 21st century, pushed through a host of social legislation, and laid the groundwork for digitization of the economy.

India gained its independence on August 15, 1947 at the stroke of the midnight hour. For astrologers an exact time for a national horoscope is a rarity and a delight to work with. With this time not only can a very reliable horoscope be cast but all derivative charts e.g. solar return or lunar returns etc can be used effectively.

Presented here is India’s chart with only the elements relevant to our discussion. Notice a Kronos [21ta] -Sun[21le] square with Uranus transit over Kronos triggering the square.. The TNP Kronos refers to leaders as well as experts in their fields

KRONOS: Authoritative positions; questioning of competency; having differences of opinion; dealing with red tape, timing or jumping bureaucratic hoops; laws; police; legislators; the father; executives; governmental leaders; events through people in the public eye; measurements (especially of height;) rising, altitude, flights; overhead/above. Assessment of your own competency. https://marthalangwescott.com/basic-resources/

Kronos placed in the money sign Taurus hints at a governmental leader/expert in finance. Since Kronos is square the Sun which also refers to leaders we have a two hints that we could be referring to someone in an authoritative position with expertise in finance.

Next let us look at the stars that conjoin both the Sun as well as Kronos.

The TNP Kronos [21ta] is amid the stars that include Botein of Aries; Rana and Zaurak of Eridanus. The stars Botein, Rana and Zaurak articulate the theme of those lost and stranded, or simply left behind (the lost or following sheep), and thus can create a sense of frustration. These people are in need of aid or regeneration. [1]

The Sun is conjunct the stars Algenubi, Subra and Alpha Pyxidis.Algenubi, Eye of the Lion best embodies the theme of this few degree band of the ecliptic. Algenubi is of “breaking trail”. These are explorers and adventurers with interest beyond mere egoic importance to fit in with those performing on the world stage. Simply: It is time to get on with it, make a long awaited change, to break new trail, to go where we have not gone before.[1]

Subra is the paw of the Lion; and Alpha Pyxidis the compass of Argo Navis (the celestial ship). These stars encourage us to be pioneers , go on a journey (recall the journey on the Argo underatken by Jason in search for the Golden Fleece) never before attempted plotting the course, seeking the path to realize the dream of our highest potential destiny. [1]

In 1991, transiting Pluto [21sc] - the planet of “death and regeneration”, completed a T-square with radix Kronos [21ta] - Sun [21le]. India facing a severe economic crisis, the newly elected prime minister, P. V. Narasimha Rao, inducted the apolitical Singh into his cabinet as finance minister. Over the next few years, despite strong opposition, Singh carried out several structural reforms that liberalised India's economy turning it around.

The foregoing establishes Manmohan Singh’s connection to India’s radix Sun-Kronos square. Fast forward to the present and we find transit Uranus is now conjunct Kronos and square the Sun. The Sun is in Leo - the zodiacal sign that rules the heart. Astrologers link transit Uranus to Sun with sudden cardiac issues that can potentially lead to death.

Singh had undergone multiple cardiac bypass surgeries, the last of which took place in January 2009. On 26 December 2024, Singh was admitted to the emergency department of the AIIMS for issues relating to heart disease and old age. He had collapsed earlier at his home in New Delhi and died a few hours after his hospitalisation at 9:51 pm.

Here are two charts relocated to Jhelum (his birth place) (a) Moment of death (b) the New Moon of Dec. 31. Both the charts have Venus-Uranus -Lacrimosa T-square straddling the angles. Uranus (pioneer/reformer) - Venus (money/finance) - Lacrimosa (death).
