Remembering George Orwell

 

 

In the 75 years since George Orwell died, his works of dystopian fiction—which warn against rampant abuse of power, mind control and mass manipulation coupled with the rise of ubiquitous technology, fascism and totalitarianism—have become operation manuals for power-hungry political regimes wedded to the corporate state.

 

Orwell is best known for his allegorical novella Animal Farm (1945) and the dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949). Orwell's work remains influential in popular culture and in political culture, and the adjective "Orwellian"—describing totalitarian and authoritarian social practices—is part of the English language.

 

In this post we take a look at Orwell’s horoscope [1] to see what information we can glean from it. We immediately notice a Sun - Uranus opposition - the hall mark of someone who hates to toe the line of the establishment. This is further confirmed with Uranus in opposition to Pluto. For Uranus-Pluto, Ebertin has: 

Pioneers, reformers, people who are very much out of the ordinary or who are endowed with universal genius. 

In the period 1943-45 and in 1948 his radix Pluto-Uranus-Sun-Moon-Neptune configuration was transited by Saturn and Uranus in turn bringing out the reformer in him with the publication of Animal Farm (1945) and Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949). 

But it is the stars, Mirzam and Tejat, conjoining Orwell’s Sun and Moon that clearly indicate the role that he was destined for and which we now know that he played out very well. 

Beta Canis Majoris, Mirzam, Al-Murzim or Murzim derived from the Arabic is loosely translated to “The Announcer” or 'The Herald', and probably refer to its position, heralding (i.e., rising before) alpha Canis Majoris, Sirius often associated with authoritarian behaviour [2] 

Tejat, mu Gemini, will bring out to be seen that which has been suppressed, oppressed, hidden, in the closet, but destined to be seen. [3] 

So taken together Tejat and Mirzam suggest that the person may become a herald for things that are hidden or suppressed. And since Sirius is about dictators and powerful authority figures, the herald may be announcing that they will soon emerge from the shadows!
