Astrology & Symbolic Meaning Of The Burma Quake

A 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar on Friday, shaking buildings across a vast expanse of Southeast Asia. At least 20 people were killed in Myanmar, and dozens were missing after a skyscraper under construction collapsed hundreds of miles away in Bangkok, in neighboring Thailand. https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/03/28/world/myanmar-earthquake

The sidereal Capricorn ingress of the Sun, often referred to as the "Capsolar" in sidereal astrology, holds significant importance in mundane astrology. In sidereal mundane astrology, the Capsolar is considered the "master chart" of the year. Drawn for any location of interest, it is considered particularly significant if planets are near the horizon or meridian axis.

Presented here is Capsolar at the co-ordinates of the epicenter of the quake. Notice the Sun-Pluto-Mars opposition aligned with the horizon. This is the explosive energy that in Burma became the cause of the massive quake, as we shall see later in the post.

Below is an extract from the Jan 14 blogpost, Full Moon energy demands authenticity[1] which explains explains the deeper significance of this energy for individuals.

The point at which Mars reaches an opposition to the Sun is regarded by astrologers as a momentous event which colors the period around it. This occurs on Jan 16. (Consider an orb of a few days around this significant date).

The opposition externalizes interior energy which has been gestating and cooking in the unconscious. The conflagration is especially spectacular if the Sun-Mars opposition is aspecting a natal planet or within orb of the angles.

During the first half of the retrograde cycle much of the accumulated energy is banked, then brought to a head when one confronts past frustrations. Wherever Mars is transiting retrograde we are contacting deep seated and often disguised forms of rage, passion, heat, energy, raw libido and ambition. We might not be consciously aware of what is stirring deep within the psyche, but feelings, moods, events and circumstances that surface around the time of the transiting Sun-Mars opposition identify a specific area which needs to come to conscious awareness. Psychologically, it is necessary to expel the festering energy in order to become a more productive person.

When the Sun-Mars opposition breaks the cycle midway, a noticeable turning-point results and the ensuing period is a time of reconsidering any new directions which have emerged in the first half. Should there have been no overt directional indicators in that time, the impact of the opposition can explode the status quo and a total re-evaluation of the course of action necessary to reclaim personal power may be required.

Going back to the Burma quake, in her book Secrets of the Ancient Skies, Diana Rosenberg lists the important earth upheavals that have occurred linked to the stars that form the backdrop to (a) Sun-Pluto on the Ascendant (b) Mars on the descendant

Finally, if we now progress the Capsolar to March 28, the date of the quake, notice that the Sun-Pluto-Mars opposition aligned with the horizon has reached the meridian and is thereby triggered.
