Jung discussed the Persona’s breakdown in "Two Essays on Analytical Psychology." It seems likely this is in the essay "The Relations Between the Ego and the Unconscious," published in 1928.

Jung’s idea of the Persona is the social mask we wear, and its breakdown is seen as necessary for individuation, where one integrates conscious and unconscious elements to discover their true self. This process is central to Jungian psychology, emphasizing personal growth and psychological development.

Carl Jung explored the concept of the Persona’s breakdown, or "cracking," and its connection to realizing the true self in his book "Two Essays on Analytical Psychology.  This essay likely contains the detailed discussion, focusing on how the Persona’s disintegration is a critical moment in the individuation process, leading to self-realization.

In 1928, Jung’s Primary Direction (zodiacal) was “directed Pluto conj. Saturn”

In his book Planets in transit, Robert Hand describes the interaction between Pluto-Saturn as below:

This transit can also indicate a stage of psychological transformation in which energies within you try to break through the patterns of resistance and tension that you have built up in the course of your life. One psychologist has called these patterns "body armor," (persona?) referring to the armor-like tensions that they create in your body. Breaking through and free of these patterns can be quite painful, and you will resist the process quite strenuously, but for the most part you would be better off to let it happen.
