In this post we look at the astrology of the petrodollar whose beginning can be foundationally linked to the bilateral U.S.-Saudi discussions and agreements in 1974 and particularly to the public Joint Statement on Saudi Arabian-U.S. Cooperation signed on June 8, 1974, in Washington, D.C. (at Blair House, by U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and Saudi Crown Prince Fahd). This established joint economic and military commissions and laid groundwork for Saudi investment of oil revenues in U.S. assets.
The Solar Eclipse of 20 June 1974 was close enough to the signing of the Saudi Arabian-U.S. Cooperation on June 8, 1974 to act as its proxy chart. The eclipse[28ge] along with the South Node [19ge] is on the IC square Jupiter [17pi] on the Ascendant [21pi28] - a classic signature of overextension followed by a downfall. The eclipse is conjunct the star Betelgeuse.
“glory and peril: brute force, leadership, and achievement alongside the dangers of hubris. Negative potentials include rashness, combativeness, obstinacy, violence, or becoming a "brute" (bully, overbearing force), but also the risk of calamity or falling due to excess”.
The full Orion/Betelgeuse mythic “scene” include both the dominant hunter/warrior and the moment of his humbling. The 1974 eclipse chartwhen read as a proxy “event chart” for the Saudi-U.S. Cooperation agreement (8 June 1974), and then linked to the current Sibly directed arcs and the September 2025 lunar eclipse, creates a remarkably coherent mundane-astrology picture of exactly that cycle: glory → over-extension → potential downfall or dissolution,

The 1974 Solar Eclipse as “Birth” of the Petrodollar Framework: Eclipse at 28° Gemini conjunct Betelgeuse, placed on the IC (the “roots/foundation/end of the matter” axis) and square Jupiter 17° Pisces on the Ascendant 21° Pisces 28′. This is the classic Betelgeuse signature : brute-force achievement, martial/economic dominance, and the risk of hubris-driven calamity. The shoulder-star of the Hunter is literally at the base of the chart, “bearing the burden” of the new dollar-oil law while Jupiter on the Ascendant expands it aggressively outward. The Sabian of the Ascendant — Pisces 22° “A man bringing down law from Sinai” — fits the imposition of a new code of conduct (oil priced and settled exclusively in USD) as a kind of economic “new commandment.” South Node at 19° Gemini also on the IC reinforces the “karmic culmination” feel — the system is being founded on a point that already carries the seed of eventual release or reversal.

The Sibly Directed Solar Arc Activation (2026 chart): Directed Sun at 21° Pisces 29′ exactly on the 1974 eclipse Ascendant (21° Pisces 28′).The vitality of the United States chart is now precisely on the “event horizon” of the 1974 agreement. The nation’s life-force is re-living the moment the petrodollar “law” was brought down from the mountain. Sibly directed Sun + Saturn at 22° Gemini form a T-square with:radix Sibly Mars 21° Gemini (in the 7th house of treaties and partnerships), and radix Sibly Neptune 22° Virgo (dissolution, oil, hidden flows, idealism turned illusory).
Mars in the 7th is literally “agreements with partner countries.” Neptune’s pressure on Mars is the classic signature of erosion, disillusionment, or quiet dissolution of contracts. The hunter’s aggressive arm (Mars) is being softened or undermined by Neptunian waters — exactly the kind of “sting” the mythic scorpion delivers to Orion.

The 7 September 2025 Total Lunar Eclipse Activator15° Pisces 22′ falls on the 1974 eclipse’s radix Jupiter (17° Pisces) and is conjunct Achernar (the bright star at the end of the River Eridanus where the river meets the sea). Achernar’s traditional lore is about completion, the river reaching its destination, endings that are also a kind of flowing-out or release. The 2025 eclipse is therefore lighting up the expansion point (Jupiter) of the original 1974 agreement and marking it with a star of finality.
Taken together, the four charts paint the complete Orion scene:1974 eclipse + Betelgeuse = the Hunter at the height of his power, imposing the new law with martial/economic force.
Current directed Sun on the eclipse Asc + T-square to Mars/Neptune = the moment the Hunter is checked; the “brute force” that established the system is now under internal pressure and external dissolution.
2025 lunar eclipse on 1974 Jupiter + Achernar = the river (the petrodollar flow) reaching the sea — a symbolic ending or transformation, not necessarily a total collapse but a natural conclusion of the cycle.
The scorpion is a small, precise, inevitable force of balance that humbles the boastful giant. In the charts, that role is played by the slow, dissolving Neptune–Mars pressure and the Achernar “river’s end” symbolism — forces that arise from within the system itself (over-extension, hidden liabilities, shifting global partners) rather than from a single dominant opponent.So the star lore around Betelgeuse and Orion encompasses the glory and the peril. Whether that manifests as outright collapse, major renegotiation, or a transformed “post-petrodollar” order remains to be seen.
