A solar
return chart is a standard tool used by astrologers to predict the fortunes for a particular
year. It is drawn for the moment the Sun returns to the place it occupied in
the radix (birth) chart – a kind of birthday chart to judge the year ahead. The angles (Ascendant and MC) can then be
progressed at the solar quotidian rate (roughly about a degree per day) between
two birthdays. On the days these progressed angles hit important planets and
configurations in the chart, the nature of those planets is brought out in
