Astrology of the Indo-US diplomatic spat

NEW YORK: In a major diplomatic setback for India, its Deputy Consul General in New York was arrested by law enforcement authorities on visa fraud charges and released on a $250,000 bond after she pleaded not guilty in a court. Devyani Khobragade, 39, was taken into custody as she was dropping her daughter to school at around 9 a.m. on 12 December after US Attorney for the Southern District of New York India- born Preet Bharara announced charges of visa fraud against her.  The arrest and detention has created a diplomatic uproar with punitive steps taken against State Department officials in New Delhi.

The horoscope for the arrest [12 Dec. 9 am New York] is shown here  along with the ephemeris for the positions of planets and asteroids [1]. On the IC [10ta] is Niobe [20ta] which rules “humbling experiences” [2].  “With a Pluto-Uranus-Jupiter T-square  straddling  the horizon axis along with asteroid Hebe (maids or service personnel) we are seeing  “unexpected  reactions (Uranus) based on resentments , ultimatums or threats to control (Pluto)” in connection  with “maids or service personnel” (Hebe) [2]. With Jupiter bringing in the element of “foreigners or foreign countries” the picture is complete. Uranus[8ar] is conjunct 13 Cephei [8ar39] in King Cepheus’ crown and 12 Andromedae [9ar13] in Andromeda’s chained right hand. In this area of stars, there is a danger of rigidity and intolerance so that the picture of Andromeda being put in chains by the intolerant King is literally visible here!

 But as we have said earlier in several previous posts, the event chart no matter how dramatic can at best be considered the “minute” hand of the clock. The “hour” hand has to  be something more enduring like an eclipse, an ingress or even a New or Full Moon.  Here we look at the current Libra Ingress chart at New York [3]. Notice the strong Venus-Saturn-Moon-Mars T-square straddling the horizon axis.  Mars-Saturn is a combination well known to produce angry responses to laws.  Venus is associated with diplomats  because of its connection to Libra and the Moon can refer to a maid or some domestic issue. Also on the MC [1sa02] of the chart is Hebe [7sa55] opposite Niobe [3sa55]  and Juno [3aq51] on the Ascendant [10aq] so that this chart is referring, among other things,  to a possible humbling experience (Niobe) in connection with maids (Hebe) over of a question of fairness or enforcement of rights (Juno) [2]. The relevance of this chart becomes apparent when we progress it to 12 December, the date of the incident, when the T-square aligns with the merdian axis and is therefore triggered. On the horizon axis are asteroids  Niobe and Hebe once again!

The Moon [14ta] is conjunct Tish (Cih) [14ta] about which Nick Fiorenza writes:

Tish is the whip of the Queen Cassiopeia. The intolerant queen, crusted with frustration due to finding herself unable to have that which she knows she is entitled, in-between the tormenting forces of both the manipulative gods (astronomical cycles of life) and the monstrous human world, and at loss with how to deal with either, becomes spitefully arrogant.
