Saturn-Moon occultation: Man kills children in Texas

Medea commits filicide

(CNN) -- A man shot and killed his four children and the two adults who were looking after them, Texas authorities said late Wednesday (July 9). A seventh person, a 15-year-old girl, was critically wounded and taken to a local hospital. All of the children were either biological or adopted children of the suspect, said Sgt. Thomas Gilliland with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Officials didn't say what prompted the shootings. The man, identified as 34-year-old Ron Lee Haskell, is separated from his wife, who lives out of state, authorities said. The shooting took place in Spring, about 20 miles north of Houston.

Here is an extract from a previous post “Cain and Abel in Nevada [1] which applies verbatim to the incident at Spring, Texas where the chart for the occultation of Saturn by the Moon is the sam e as that at Nevada, Missouri since these places are on roughly the same longitude.

To understand this news we will look at an unusual phenomena that occurred on July 8. This was the occultation of Saturn by the Moon. An occultation is an event that occurs when one object is hidden by another object that passes between it and the observer.  In astronomy this occurs when the two objects coincide in longitude and declination. A chart drawn for the  Saturn-Moon occultation at Nevada,Missouri where the incident took place has it located on the MC. The Saturn-Moon forms a Yod with Uranus in Aries and Venus in Gemini.

The Moon [17sc]  and Saturn [17sc] are in tropical Scorpio in the head of the Serpent and in the foreleg of the Centaur. This is an area known for attempts  to dominate and resistance to domination and cowardly malevolence. The Centaur is dominated by animal impulses which may overcome virtue, judgement and Man’s higher nature as apparently in the case here. [2]

Venus [17ge] is conjunct stars of the mighty  Orion, stern, proud Cepheus and the Bull with it head down charging with its horns to the fore. A sudden toss of Bull’s horns can bring upheaval and chaos. Proud, stubborn, enclosed within themselves, these people act on their beliefs and do not listen or relate easily, often failing to see the outcome of their actions. Harsh, warlike and ambushing they may impose tyranny. As Orion is a hunter so  there are hunter-stalkers and guns and weapon-fanciers here. Stalking, sneak attacks and arrogant  or heedless use of violence are issues.[3]

The third leg of the Yod is occupied by Uranus [16ar] in Aries.  Uranus is wild and audacious, so is Aries. The combination can be volatile and explosive. A Uranus-Saturn aspect like the quincunx here can be highly stressful since the self-willed Uranus can feel very restricted by Saturn.

Apart from the fact that asteroid Medea [1aq] – named after the Greek goddess who slays her children- is  on the Ascendant here we note that Uranus[16ar] is conjunct stars of King Cepheus, his daughter Andromeda and Cetus the Sea-Monster so that this an area where there are often father-child issues including violence.

Also note that the Uranus-Pluto square is highlighted by a T-square to Sun in Cancer (family) we have an incident where there is unexpected [Uranus] reaction based on possible ultimatums, resentments or compulsion [Pluto].
