A pack of wolves has been spotted in Northern
California for the first time in nearly 100 years. The appearance of the five
grey wolf pups and two adults could signal a return of the animals, which have
not been found in the state since 1924. California Department of Fish and
Wildlife first discovered the pack this month in Siskiyou County near the Oregon
border using a remote camera. The wolves have been named the "Shasta
Pack" after a nearby mountain. "This news is exciting for
California," Charlton Bonham of the California Department of Fish and
Wildlife said on Thursday. "We knew wolves would eventually return home to
the state and it appears now is the time." Aug. 21 http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-34020774
Cardinal
ingresses of the Sun have a special place in mundane astrology. Of these the
Capricorn ingress is considered by many astrologers to be the “master chart” of
the year. Shown here is the current sidereal Capricorn ingress at Shasta,Ca.
Here a Saturn-Mars-Neptune square straddles the meridian axis. Saturn is conjunct the stars of Lupus, the Wolf while
Mars-Neptune are placed amidst stars in the eternally- flowing, all-forgiving and healing waters of heaven pouring from the
Urn of Aquarius implying a need to end the persecution of this magnificent wild
animal.
Progressing the chart to Aug.21 brings the Uranus-Pluto
square in alignment with the meridian. Uranus-Pluto
in its positive manifestation represents a regeneration or rebirth after destruction
and deep transformation. Here Pluto[13cp41] is opposite the star Sirius, alpha
Canis Major [14cn17] . In China, this was the “Wolf Star”. And at least two other Amerind tribes, the
Pawnee and Osage, called Sirius either the “Wolf Star”or “Coyote Star”.
PS: All events have a deeper symbolic
meaning. Here this story may be pointing to the need to get beyond a simplistic
understanding of good and evil. What we consider evil may be a necessary and important
part of evolution. This understanding is elegantly depicted in the ancient
Indian story of Samudra Manthan [1] where the gods and demons were both
essential participants to get at the “nectar of life” [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samudra_manthan
