Why society needs more troublemakers

It's sweet to be agreeable-but what a vibrant, healthy society really needs is principled troublemakers. Those who dare to say "no" when it appears that everyone else is in agreement are rare and brave-and they make the world a better place, according to University of California, Berkeley psychology professor Charlan Nemeth. Her new book, In Defense of Troublemakers: The Power of Dissent in Life and Business, shows how everyone benefits when someone presents a thoughtful contrarian view. Nemeth's research in social psychology and cognition has shown that disagreement improves group thinking. "It's a benefit regardless of whether or not [dissenters] hold the truth," she argues. "Most people are afraid and they don't speak up. Companies have that problem all the time. And the research really shows us that that even if it's wrong, the fact that the majority or the consensus is challenged actually stimulates thinking." At each New Moon, the Sun and Moon align with specific stars (and planets) in the heavens that provide unique cosmic qualities that express throughout the lunar cycle. The New Moon alignments reveal the theme of each lunar cycle. Charlan Nemeth’s new book has come out within the current New Moon lunar cycle that began on April 16. In his blogpost on the New Moon entitled “Breaking Free,” Nick Fiorenza writes:

This April 16, 2018 UT (Apr 15 MST) New Moon occurs just across the cusp of sidereal Aries nesting between Eris and Uranus. Pisces is the constellation of the two fishes. One fish swims westward, horizontally along the ecliptic plane. The westward swimming fish articulates our primordial autonomic (sleeping) nature, and our unconsciously reactive participation in the cycle of mortal life (in other words going along with mass consensus). It is of our inherited genealogies that we are born into and the behavioral patterns they express. The eastern fish leaps upward, vertically from the ecliptic plane, seeking a greater freedom at the shores of sidereal Aries. The eastern fish articulates our desire and capacity to ascend from our inherited past and its ideologies, and our effort to awaken from submersion in the tumultuous psychic emotional human world articulated by southern Cetus.
This Uranus New Moon conjoins the stars forming the upright fish, which express through the cusp and just into sidereal Aries. The first few degrees of sidereal Aries impart a pure creative motive for extraordinary personal accomplishment or transformation, with excellent potential for physical manifestation of efforts. With Uranus, now having completed its retrograde and fully into its passage through sidereal Aries, this lunar cycle impels innovative, inventive and progressive action, discovery and the expression of new levels of intelligence that breaks us away from the conformations of the long-established energetic currents of the past.   http://www.lunarplanner.com/

In essence, this lunar cycle is about dissenting with mass consensus – the very theme of Charlan Nemeth’s new book. Notice that at Berkley, California, where the author resides, the New Moon, which is conjunct Uranus and square Pluto, forms a T-square with the meridian axis implying that its energy is being significantly felt at that place.

Finally, let us look at the Sabian symbol [1] for the Ascendant [17li12].

Phase 198: Two men under arrest
When individuals try to reform an established order they may be punished by that order.  For individuals the challenge is how to make their transforming vision acceptable to society. The fact that two men are under arrest suggests a polarization and a purpose transcending a mere fit of recklessness. Negative as the image may seem, one may see implied in it the power in every individual to assume social risks in order to express his convictions even if he has to face the consequences. Isn’t the symbol also emphasizing the need for dissent?!

  1. Try the Tzu Wei Chinese astrology. It is from an ET alien source (Cenos) given to mankind about 4300 years ago. It uses distant celestial objects outside our solar system to provide testable characteristics so we can verify that it really works.
