Solar Eclipse and the Greece fire

Twin wildfires raging through popular seaside areas near the Greek capital have torched homes, cars and forests and killed at least 60 people, authorities said Tuesday, raising the death toll after rescue crews reported finding the bodies of more than 20 people huddled together near a beach. CBS News correspondent Seth Doane reports the fires are the worst Greece has seen since 2007, prompting the government to issue an urgent appeal for help in battling the blazes, which have swept through a beach resort community popular with tourists and retirees. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/athens-greece-fires-dozens-dead-beaches-kineta-rafina-today-live-updates-2018-07-24/

Astrology often makes mention of houses, transits, and aspects, but it's the angles in a chart that really bring a horoscope to life. The angles are the four Cardinal points of an astrological chart: the Ascendant, the Midheaven, the Descendant and the Imum Coeli.

The solar eclipse of July 13 fell  close to the Ascendant at Athens, Greece implying that it was very significant for the place. Being opposite Pluto and square the TNP it is already indicating some radical event (Pluto) possibly linked to fires (Zeus).  Exactly conjunct the Ascendant [14cn] is the star Sirius, alpha Canis Major.

Canis Major and especially its lucida, Sirius (derived from seirios, “scorching”) has always been associated with heat and fires: the Great Fire of Rome began in the night of July 18, 64 CE OS; July 19 was the date of the heliacal rising of Sirius.  There was a solar eclipse here in July 1666, two months before the Great Fire of London; at the great New York City financial district fire of 1835; at Vienna’s 1881 Ring fire that killed 850 and injured hundreds more; at the 1908 Lake View School fire in Collinwood,OH that killed 176 children  and 2 teachers; at the ghastly 1923 8.3 Tokyo earthquake/tsunami/fire that killed 143,000; at the terrible 1944 Ringling Circus fire in Hartford,CT;  at the start of the fire in 1988 that destroyed Lisbon’s Chiado Shopping district; at the 1991 Oakland Hills, San Francisco fire that burned 3000 homes and killed 25 and many more [1].

Finally we notice that the eclipse has fallen exactly opposite the radix Sun [22cp] in Greece’s  national horoscope!
