On why Serena Williams lost her cool

The US Open women’s final was marred by shocking scenes as Serena Williams clashed with the match umpire, branding him a “thief” and a “liar” as the American suffered defeat against Japan’s Naomi Osaka. Osaka, 20, became Japan’s first-ever Grand Slam singles winner, beating Williams 6-2, 6-4 at Flushing Meadows – although much of the attention was focused on an extraordinary clash between Williams and umpire Carlos Ramos. The Portuguese official handed Williams code violations for receiving coaching from the stands and smashing her racket, sparking anger from the US star which culminated in a scathing attack on Ramos at the changeover while 4-3 down in the second set. "You are a liar. You will never be on a court of mine as long as you live. When are you going to give me my apology? Say you are sorry," Williams, 36, shouted at Ramos. https://www.rt.com/sport/437986-serena-williams-umpire-osaka-us-open/

Horoscopes can be very revealing. An ugly incident like the one here shows up the deep fissures in Serena’s personality. Let us take a look at the Mercury-Pluto conjunction square the nodal axis. Transiting Mars conjoins her South Node sharply squaring Mercury. Key words for this transit are : Agitated mind. Irritations. Impulsive reactions, anger, hostility. Criticism and sarcasm.

But there is a deep source of this anger.  In his book Yesterday’s Sky, Steven Forrest explains the  meaning of Pluto square the nodes. The person may have suffered sadistic violence in a previous life and repressed that memory. When activated in this life a feeling of mistrust prevails and paranoia about schemers can be projected onto innocent fabric as if demons were afoot.  Yesterday umpire Carlos Ramos became the target of her misplaced anger.
