Charts for the phases of the Moon are among the most
reliable indicators of events on earth. This is especially so at places where
they make hard aspects to the horizon or meridian. For readers who are
unfamiliar with astrology, Moon phases act as
local “step down transformers” for powerful energies generated by far
away planets or planetary configurations that they aspect.
The Full Moon of 14 Oct has Moon in Aries and the Sun in
Libra both making hard aspects to the meridian at Madrid. The Aries-Libra
polarity is a relationship axis, where Aries represents “self” and Libra
represents “other.” Where Aries is about self-assertion, Libra is about
compromise. The energy of the Libra Sun is the awareness of the need for
relationships and all that comes with maintaining them–compromising,
negotiating, graciousness, and balancing. The Aries Moon, on the other hand, is
self-assertive, leading, and personally courageous.
The Catalan independence movement seeks the independence (Aries) of Catalonia
from union (Libra) with Spain. This movement threatens the constitutional order
and its actions have been declared illegal on multiple occasions.
The Full Moon Aries-Libra axis makes a T-square with
Saturn-Pluto in Capricorn – a sign linked to the nation state. Considering that the establishment of a nation state has required great labor over a great length
of time, Capricorn will place substantial value onto what it has built, and
therefore it is heavily invested in maintaining itself. Preservation is
paramount for the Capricorn archetype.
Freedom of choice (Aries) is not a Saturn–Pluto concept,
so beliefs that do not fall in line with the established order (Capricorn),
come under pressure. Saturn, rigidly disciplined, status-driven and
authoritarian, has no reason to mellow when combined with Pluto’s power–hungry
need for control. If anything, both planets become more entrenched when their
energies are merged.
Saturn’s great strength in stability and structure
(Capricorn) is also a weakness when faced with situations demanding flexibility
and compromise (Libra). Pluto in a slightly different way is also incapable of
giving way gracefully. A world view based solely on power sees only the
victorious or the oppressed. There can be no quarter given when compromise is
seen as a sign of weakness, a lowering of defences as potentially
life-threatening. This then is the reason why a Spanish court has jailed the Catalonia leaders for
sedition.
Finally we take a look at the Wynn Key Return chart for Spain (22
Nov. 1975; 12:45 pm CET, Madrid). Notice that the Full Moon T-square aligns
significantly with the angles.
And Jupiter and Neptune Javed, mixed in with Mercury Shadow (?) What a cockstail!
