Capricorn glyph
The passage of Pluto through Capricorn began in 2008 and
will continue into 2024. India is among countries ruled by Capricorn [1] (*). We find ourselves in a period that resonates
with the previous passages of Pluto in this “Sign of the Institutional Order”,
(1516-1532 and 1762-1778). The
first period 1516-1532 marked the beginning of Mughal rule of India and the
second coincided with the end of the Mughal empire and the beginning of British
rule (see table below).
Capricorn can be likened to a rock. Just as a rock forms
over great lengths of time, by the time the evolutionary journey has advanced
to Capricorn, the conditioning patterns and the realities it has created have
crystallized to such a degree that consciousness is primarily resistant and
largely impenetrable. When Pluto, the planet of death and regeneration, transits through Capricorn it brings
tremendous upheavals. Its transformative
mandate serves to create a progressively reordered state of existence itself.
Countries, borders, and geography can be significantly and forever altered; so
too, the political, economic, cultural, and societal standards that regulate
common everyday life.
Pluto in Capricorn advances the dismantling of the previous
era, bringing an entire cycle of development to culmination and closure, while
at the same time construction begins on a new era. Pluto’s transit through
Capricorn compels us to learn a new way of creating our everyday realities.
That which can no longer support the evolutionary requirements is dismantled
and discarded. That which can house and support the evolving form gains in
scope and momentum.
In order to make the shift into the paradigms of the coming
period, all unfinished business must be resurrected in order for it to be
exposed and evolved. Exposure and experience serves to generate the necessary
awareness. Pluto’s transit through Capricorn will serve to draw back the
curtain until the flaws, failings, and destructiveness of the system become so
obvious, they can no longer be ignored.
The passage of Pluto in Capricorn is likely to completely
alter India’s political and social landscape much as it did on the previous two
occasions mentioned above.

For the technically advanced
readers here are two charts for (a) the lunar eclipse of December 30, 1525
progressed to April 21, 1526, the Battle of Panipat (b) the solar eclipse of
September 25, 1764 progressed to October 22, 1764, the Battle of Buxar.
Eclipses are known to bring about endings and new beginnings. In each case
notice that the eclipse (forming aspect to Pluto in Capricorn) has been brought
to the angles signifying that Pluto’s transformative mandate was altering
India forever.

and speaking about the cycle of Pluto for many years, and I have written and
talked about Pluto’s passage through Capricorn every 250 years, which is
happening once again from 2008-2024. Each Pluto in Capricorn period signals the
end of a world order, which is equally the emergence of a new institutional
order in the hierarchy of social realms: spiritual, cultural, political and
economic. What we are seeing across the globe today is not how it had to be; it
is we and our way of life that has made the content and facts of what this
challenge would look like. But it is most certainly true that this is our time
to bring into being a New World, and what emerges will and must be different
than the order we have had since the late 1700’s, not just here but for the
entire world. -
