'Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat
it.'
The
Dow has collapsed from a record high into 'correction' in the space of just six
days. As we detailed earlier, this is the fastest collapse from an all-time
peak since 1928, just ahead of The Great Depression:
The quote is most likely due to writer and philosopher
George Santayana, and in its original form it read, "Those who cannot
remember the past are condemned to repeat it." The sentiment that history
repeats is hard to disagree with. Why is that? Because human nature does not
change and astrologically speaking we are liable to the same errors when the
same planetary combinations hit our charts repeatedly. In this post we shall see how the greed driven brokers on Wall Street are once again making the same
mistakes as they did in 1928-32.
A horoscope of the NYSE as provided by Astro-Databank[1]
is shown here. Analyzing this horoscope in a previous post [2] I wrote:
Venus is very
appropriately in the money sign Taurus.
Jupiter, the ruler of 5th house of speculation, is conjunct Neptune which
introduces a danger of being trapped in overextension and bubble schemes. These schemes can give easy
money when the going is good but when Saturn, which is opposite
Jupiter-Neptune, is activated a reality check follows.
The table below gives the major transits to the NYSE
chart for the period 1928 – 32. Notice the Grand Cross formed by the transiting Saturn-Pluto opposition to
NYSE’s Jupiter-Neptune opposite Saturn aligned very significantly with the
meridian. Compare that with the present period…Pluto has traversed 180 degrees
since 1928-32 and is exactly opposite the position it occupied then. Moreover, the
Saturn-Pluto conjunction of 2020 is forming a square to the same sensitive axis
in the NYSE chart. History is repeating itself….a reality check is due And the
trigger is being provided by fast moving Venus transiting over the NYSE radix Saturn
on the MC. As the news breaks, guess where the transiting Moon is….also right on top
of the NYSE Saturn!
Regular readers will be aware that currently the most
important astrological event is the meeting (conjunction) of Saturn and Pluto
in Capricorn. Under this powerful conjunction societal structures are decaying
and breaking down. Resources are purposely being limited to stop us from
focusing on outer issues. The conjunction marks the end of an era marked by
widespread indulgence, decadence, greed, denial and inflation. Pluto, the lord
of the underworld, is often linked to the boiling cauldron of our subconscious
desires. When negative it manifests as an obsessive quality to indulge in things
we do not need (greed). Saturn, on the other hand, encompasses all that
involves boundaries and limits. It acts as a reality check, constricting our
desires/greed. It is the conveyor of the hard truth, sobering and often
painful. It shows up as a period of contraction forcing us to recognize what we
need versus what we desire.
