Astrology Of India’s Cyclone Yaas

Torrential rains, howling winds, and tidal surges from Cyclone Yaas wreak havoc in eastern India as the virus-stricken country experiences its second cyclone in less than two weeks, according to Bloomberg. More than two million people were evacuated from the eastern states of Odisha and West Bengal as Yaas made landfall Wednesday morning, destroying homes, farms and affecting ten million people. In mundane astrology, the cardinal ingresses of the Sun (entry into the  four cardinal signs/ constellations, i.e. 00 deg of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn ) have a traditional reputation as important mundane events.  These charts are so  impressive that their progressions (especially in the related quarters) can mark important events during the year.

Shown here is the sidereal Aries ingress chart drawn for Balasore, India where the cyclone made its landfall. As always  planets on the angles are the ones to focus on. Here on the Ascendant is Pluto square the Sun. Pluto has been linked to “the unleashing of the elemental forces of nature”. This is the first clue that  the ingress chart is hinting at a major natural disaster brewing in the three months ahead. The second clue comes from Uranus on the 4th house  cusp (IC). In astro-meteorology, the 4th house rules the weather [1].  Here Uranus is amid stars of  the Arabic lunar mansion Al Sharatain about which Diana Rosenberg writes:

Arabs said Al Sharatain brought “whirlwinds:” planets transited these stars when in 1991, a massive cyclone with 145 mph winds hit Bangladesh; in 1955 a record of 110 tornadoes in 3 days hit 6 states – a monstrous twister hit Blackwell,OK killing 19, then obliterated Udall, KS killing 82; in 1969 Category 5 Hurricane  Camille hit the Gulf Coast leaving 400 dead; in1999 tornadoes hit Oklahoma and Kansas; the Great Miami Hurricane of 1926 hit Florida.

All horoscopes whether mundane or natal can be progressed according to any of the well known methods. One such method is the Wynn Key Return [2]. Presented here is the  Aries Ingress Wynn Key Return for May26 – the date of Cyclone Yaas and also coincidentally the date of total lunar eclipse. Notice how perfectly the eclipse aligns with the meridian. Here the Sun [5ge] is in the Hyades cluster linked to “storms and torrential rains”.  The eclipse Moon [5sa] is conjunct the three Black Holes Circinus X-1, Scorpio X-1, Hercules X-1. Diana Rosenberg writes:

Black Holes are often transited at storms: there were placements here in 1748 at John Newton’s Storm; at the 1815 Autumn Equinox, the day the devastating Great September Gale hit New England; at the Winter Solstice of 1898, a series of hurricanes and gales swept the North Atlantic from the end of December to March 1899 causing havoc with shipping; at the Great Galveston Hurricane of 1900; at the Sept. 1928 New Moon during the huge Lake Okeechobee Hurricane, second deadliest in US history; at the Great Florence flood of 1966; in Oct 1998 when Category 5 Hurricane Mitch devastated Central America.

Finally, according to the Met office, the landfall at Balsore was complete at 11:30 am IST. Here is the chart for that moment. The forming Full Moon eclipse is perfectly aligned with the meridian! Coincidence?
