Saturn station: Break from tradition; return to simple pleasures

Saturn is the planet of discipline, limitations, and boundaries and has been retrograde since May 23, making it far more difficult to implement structure in our lives. Saturn will finally be stationing direct on Oct. 11 making a slightly wide square to Uranus.

The Sabian symbol  for Saturn at its station is:

A CHILD IS SEEN BEING BORN OUT OF AN EGG

                                   Aquarius 7 (6° - 7°)

FREEDOM FROM OLD WAYS AND STANDARDS
Dramatic changes occur when entirely new mutations occur that break the traditions of the past
"Breaking with tradition"

Ancestral wisdom drives our evolutionary processes by which, very slowly over the generations, our race develops higher consciousness. Yet, another development process is also at play, whereby a quantum shift can occur – a revolutionary mutation that catapults us into new awareness very suddenly, and we are no longer as bound up in old ways and their limited understandings. We can create inspired and totally new realities. [1]

Rudhyar:

A CHILD IS SEEN BEING BORN OUT OF AN EGG

And for Uranus  (which squares Saturn) it is:

CHILDREN PLAY ON THE BEACH

                                   Taurus 14 (13°- 14°)

SIMPLE PLEASURES
There is wisdom in finding a balance between work and play
"Self-sponsored emergence within a community setting"

Now when we play as children do, it is more for relaxation and recuperation than before and, rather than being an unsophisticated 'play and learn' joyfulness, it is contrasted to work and stress. We then philosophise about play, promote the idea of it and explain its importance to each other, rather than naturally default to it whenever we feel like it [2].

Rudhyar:
ON THE BEACH, CHILDREN PLAY WHILE SHELLFISH GROPE AT THE EDGE OF THE WATER

Saturn Uranus alignments represent periods of radical change and disruption to the status quo. They’re good times to break out of old habits patterns that have become too restrictive and limiting. Uranus is disruptive but also creative. It stops life from becoming too static and stagnant by awakening new ideas and possibilities.  While Uranus is in Taurus our values will be radically transformed and we’ll be forced to rethink how and why we do things, probably because the consequences of our current value system will come back to bite us.

Saturn  transit in Aquarius encourages us to build something real in our lives  that aligns with our  true values,  free from the inertia of our and  mankind's past (Sabian 307).  This may require connecting with soul mates and like minded people (Aquarius)  returning to simpler joys for revitalization through close contact with natural energies and simple pleasures (Sabian 44).

PS:

Resonating with the above is the symbol of the New Moon of Oct.6 under which Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter go direct.

Libra 14 (13° - 14°)

TAKING A BREAK

It is healthier and probably more productive to take ample periods of relaxation and time for recuperation. "Learning the wisdom of letting go"

To maintain health on emotional/mental levels as well as physical we must relax sometimes. This 'down-time' is not wasteful or unproductive at all; it is equivalent to the in-breath which revitalises and energises. We must assimilate our experiences, we must allow dreams their place, and we must tune in to the softer side of life in order to restore balance.

Rudhyar:

IN THE HEAT OF THE NOON HOUR A MAN TAKES A SIESTA
