Is the Fed about to increase lending rate?

With Fed speakers and their media proxies scrambling to walk-back St.Louis Fed's Jim Bullard's calls for an inter-meeting liftoff and uber-hawkish rate-hike trajectory, it is notable that all of a sudden, The Fed has called for an "Expedited, Closed" Board Meeting on Monday Feb 14th (at 1130amET). The goal of the meeting is: "Review and determination by the Board of Governors of the advance and discount rates to be charged by the Federal Reserve Banks." https://bit.ly/3sAU6J1

The Federal Reserve announced that it’s keeping interest rates steady following its Jan. 25-26 meeting, leaving the federal funds rate at a range of 0 to 0.25 percent. But Fed watchers are expecting the central bank to hike rates a number of times in 2022, with a high probability that it does so at its next meeting in March. Now it appears that the emergency meeting scheduled for Monday, Feb. 14 may bring this decision forward.

The horoscope of the US Federal Reserve was discussed in a previous post [1]. Extracted from that post is a quote from Bill Meridian:

How could any entity with a hard Mars-Jupiter-Neptune aspect be expected to exercise restraint and maintain a stable currency? ...Inflation, if you have not guessed by now, is a Jupiter-Neptune phenomena - the illusion of wealth. Recall the opposition in the Fed's chart, and if you still need convincing, check the past effect of hard angles of these two planets on bullion prices. In fact, one reason that the 1970s inflation was so severe was due to the fact that not only was Neptune in Sag, but Jupiter was, too. There were three conjunctions, and near the time of the last one, President Nixon took the USA off of the gold standard by signing the Smithsonian Agreement. Deflation is ruled by Saturn-Neptune. Paul Volcker revealed his plan to fight inflation on October 6,1979 with Saturn square Neptune.

Back to the present. The table below gives the current primary directions in the Fed chart.

*** END REPORT ***

“Deflation is ruled by Saturn-Neptune”.The current Primary Direction for the Fed chart is a hard aspect between Saturn-Neptune. In addition transit Pluto (along with the recent Mercury station) is over radix Neptune. If we have succumbed to Neptune’s illusions, then Pluto and of course Saturn both act as a reality check.

Volcker’s steps to fight infaltion included a series of measures that began with a 1 percentage point increase in the Fed’s lending rate. One can reasonably expect something similar right now.
