At Last, the EU Wakes Up

Finally, at long last, it appears the European Union may come to its senses. All it took was for German elites to understand they’re about to lose billions and risk upheaval. News from the IMF that halted gas supplies to the country will cost Europe’s largest economy 1.5 percent of its GDP in 2022 scares the Olaf Scholz puppet worse than communist smart girl Sahra Wagenknecht. Which has me wondering, was communism that bad, after all? https://bit.ly/3QpSCvE

In horoscopic astrology, a Saturn return is an astrological transit that occurs when the planet Saturn returns to the same ecliptic longitude that it occupied at the moment of a person's birth. Western astrologers believe that, as Saturn "returns" to the degree in its orbit occupied at the time of birth, a person crosses over a major threshold and enters the next stage of life. With the first Saturn return, a person leaves youth behind and enters adulthood.

In a previous post [1], I had discussed the pressure created by the Saturn return in the EU chart. With Saturn now retrograding over its natal position some kind of rethinking should occur. Since Saturn is the apex planet of a T-square with Moon-Mars-Pluto in the EU chart, the pressure to change is intense.

If we have a history of defiant, Plutonian eruptions against rules and authority, Saturn is now warning us to exert self-control and discipline . On the other hand and this is the more likely scenario, most of us have not been too aggressive with our Plutonian drives. In this case defiance and rage have not been a part of our repertoire in dealing with power and authority, then this Saturn transit allows us the transformative option of bringing more of our Pluto potential into a concrete, workable form ( We get to manifest some of what has been typically kept under wraps because of hidden fears, internal taboos, shame, intimidation or ignorance of our potential).

This then is the challenge for the EU at the Saturn return. European foreign policy has thus far been dictated by the US. The Saturn return provides an opportunity for Europe to acquire integrity and stand up to being bullied. [1]

With the August Full Moon falling on the EU’s radix Saturn, it is not surprising to see the EU coming to its senses. Recall that this Full Moon is a “Moon Wobble” [2] which astrologer Carl Payne Tobey linked to “political and personal upheavals” which “bring suppressed energies ..to the surface, erupting and disrupting” [2]. The Full Moon Grand Cross illuminates the crisis created by the tension of the ongoing Saturn (old)-Uranus (new) square. Often in its negative expression, Uranus can wilfully demand changes that are impractical. However, Saturn, in its positive expression, reminds us that it important to recognise the difference between old structures that are good and useful and necessary, and those that are worn out. If you don’t, you could end up getting rid of things you need.

Notice that the Sabian symbol for the August Moon is meaningful in the current context.

Aquarius 20 (19° - 20°): A big white dove, a message bearer

The dove follows Noah’s flood to promise the end of calamity and the re-emergence of peace. Perhaps without the stressful calamity we would not be able to know what spiritual peace is, and its sacred value. We are promised that there will be a spiritual blessing at the end of a time of troubles.
