An earthquake of magnitude 7.0 struck Java, Indonesia on Friday, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said. The quake was at a depth of 368 miles, EMSC said, and struck at 4:55 pm local time (0955 GMT), with Indonesia's geological agency ruling out a tsunami. The quake was strongly felt in Surabaya, Tuban, Denpasar, and Semarang, Abdul Muhari, spokesperson for Indonesia's Disaster Agency, told Reuters news agency.

In his book Mundane or National Astrology , H.S. Green in the chapter on “Earthquakes” writes:
Earthquakes are found to be associated with eclipses and important planetary conjunctions and oppositions. An eclipse is always liable to cause seismic disturbances where it is visible, especially if it falls very close to the line of horizon i.e. the cusps of the first and seventh houses, or of the meridian i.e. the cusps of the tenth and fourth houses. Of these two lines, that of the meridian is more important; and that of the lower meridian i.e. the cusp of the fourth house is the most important of all.
Here is the chart for the upcoming solar eclipse drawn for Tuban but essentially also valid for places close by. Notice that the eclipse which is conjunct Jupiter and square Pluto is aligned with the meridian bearing out H.S. Green’s statement above. Additionally, readers who use TNPs will notice that the addition of the TNPs Vulcanus and Zeus converts the eclipse configuration into a Grand Cross (or a kite formation, if you prefer).
An astrological combination works at several levels and should be understood metaphorically. So if it affects the charts of individuals or nations we are likely to see it manifest as events in their lives.
Here is an example. The eclipse [29ar] is square the US Sibly Pluto [27cp] in the 2nd house and opposite its TNP Hades [0sc] in the 11th . The 11th house rules “friends” while the 2nd is one’s “values” and sense of “self worth” so that a square between the two brings a tense relationship between friendships and one’s value paradigms. Friendships that have been suffocating in some ways begin to break down under pressure. Now it turns out that the French President Macron (b. 21st Dec. 1977; 10:40 CET; Amiens,France) has his Ascendant at [29cp] conjunct the Sibly Pluto so that he becomes a major actor in the drama now unfolding where after his China visit he is distancing himself from the US!

Pluto/Hades (in US Sibly)
Control needs and psychological complexity can cause situations (and people) to "take a nose dive" (enter a difficult period,) some events or interfaces will illustrate that "shame" is the basis for power & control (of self, others, situations) games & issues.In other words, out of their own lack, a person can "mess" with others in a psychologically canny (or financial) way. So you'll see a number of facets of "The Revenge of the Nerds"!
Pluto-Zeus (in eclipse chart)
Tension, anxiety and volatility can instill reactions of alarm--as though being "not in control" would result in an absolute conflagration. You may also come to understand that people who are filled with unhealthy needs and unresolved emotions can easily be triggered (and set off like a damned rocket)--they're overly sensitized to "who's in charge" and what will happen if someone else mounts the throne and gets to dictate how things go--so they're like a huge boulder perched precariously on the edge of a cliff...it doesn't take much to upset that balance and push them over the edge. (The US is worried about China replacing it as the world hegemon!)
Jupiter-Pluto (in eclipse chart)
Under hard aspects between Pluto and Jupiter, faith is embattled. Perhaps someone has gone down a road for the wrong reasons…Comforting but phony elements of your life must be released and new possibilities seized under less than auspicious circumstances. (Certainly applies to France and Macron).
To complete the picture what does it mean for Pluto to be transiting over Macron’s Ascendant? Steven Forrest gives us the following answer:
This transit challenges you to reveal who you really are and what you really want. It is a season of “unmasking”. Some false note has crept into your external, presented self. It may be an old lie, told for safety or convenience, that is now being unravelled. Just for the curious readers here is the eclipse chart drawn for the midpoint between Paris and Washington DC...notice how powerfully the eclipse configuration straddles the angles. So if in Indonesia it was an earthquake hasn’t France’s Macron created another kind of a quake!
