Russia grants residency to foreigners

 

President Vladimir Putin on Monday signed a decree allowing foreign citizens and stateless individuals to apply for temporary residency in the country if they share “traditional Russian spiritual and moral values,” even in cases when a person does not speak Russian. Aug 19 https://tinyurl.com/mcvj736y

 

This new policy is seen as a response to the ongoing tensions with Western countries, according to Russian news agency TASS. The decree is aimed at those who share what the Russian government describes as “traditional Russian spiritual and moral values.” It offers a refuge for individuals who feel disillusioned with the policies of their own countries, particularly those influenced by Western neoliberal ideologies, the official statement read.
