Mati Carbon won the XPrize Carbon Removal award, announced at the TIME100 Summit on April 23, 2025. This recognition highlights advancements in carbon capture technology, critical for addressing climate change. Mati Carbon employs enhanced rock weathering (ERW), spreading finely crushed basalt, a volcanic rock, over agricultural lands in India to accelerate a natural process that permanently sequesters CO2 as stable bicarbonate for over 10,000 years. The process also enhances soil health, boosting crop yields by 20-25% in well-fertilized soils.
The news above is an excellent example of the kind of “breakthrough” mentioned in [1]. Here are the charts (a) for the April 23, Sun-Pluto square drawn for New York where the award was was announced (b) for the April 27, Mars-Pluto opposition in Bhopal,Madhya Pradesh, India where the ground work is being done. Notice that in both cases Sun in Taurus (fertility of agricultural land) square Pluto in Aquarius (scientific discoveries and innovations) is aligned with the merdian. Moreover Pluto is trine the TNP Admetos.
In earthquake-related astrological analysis, Admetos is associated with “things underground or coming from the ground,” which could be rocks like the basalt that form from lava. Admetos is also likened to the sign of Taurus or the Earth, with a glyph that includes the cross of matter, suggesting physical manifestation. A trine aspect between Admetus and Pluto can therefore be linked to successful grounding of deep transformative processes Pluto - whether inside the earth (or the human psyche?). If so, patient dealing with blockages and suppressed urges, can now be successfully integrated with outer behaviour.
Since Pluto rules Scorpio, which is linked to elimination and detoxification, we can stretch the analogy to "waste" products of modern society (e.g. carbon dioxide emmissions) as something that needs to be transformed or released. And in human psyche it can symbolize the process of confronting and recycling societal shadows, like corruption or suppressed libidinal issues, to foster renewal.
Next we look at the chart for the Total Lunar Eclipse of March 14 drawn for Madhya Pradesh, India where Mati Carbon has carried out “carbon sequestration” successfully. The eclipse Moon [23vi] is placed very significantly on 4th cusp (IC) conjunct the star Denebola [22vi]. About this area, Nick Fiorenza writes:
Zosma, Chort and Denebola are a triangle of stars that form the hind of the Lion. Denebola is the tail. Zosma and Chort can indicate …. toxic congestion. This area of late Leo is of foul breezes and smoke screens.
In an earlier post Eclipse forces withdrawal of VW cars that cheated on emissions [2], we saw how the same set of stars were related to carbon emissions from engines so it should come as no surprise that this area is linked to carbon-dioxide pollution.
In the eclipse chart the Sun-Saturn-North Node-Neptune stellium on the MC is amid stars of Pegasus, the winged horse of Greek mythology, associated with inspiration and creativity that can lift human beings above earthly problems. Also placed here are stars in the healing waters of Aquarius, to be broadly interpreted as revivfying or regenerating matters that have decayed or become a problem. A hint about a scientific breakthroughs comes from Uranus (innovation) in Taurus (agricultural lands) which forms a trine/sextile aspect to the eclipse axis.
Diana Rosenberg links the star Denebola to “mental depression”. Research suggests that internal conflict from the suppression of primal instincts considered taboo by society is one of the causes of depression. Nick Fiorenza adds that this area of stars is also about political and religious corruption that prevents the masses from seeing the truth so that that discernment is required to see through the toxicity and ‘smoke screen’ created by those in power. Why? Because also here are stars of the constellation Crateris - a vessel that contains the Holy Grail of Truth - the draught of life that provides nourishment as water in a well.
So perhaps the successful sequestration of carbon-dioxide is symbolizing the stage at which humanity may learn to handle primordial instincts that so far have either been suppressed by religious leaders and so appear in ‘civilized’ society as criminal acts.
