EU “bends its knees” to Trump

This deal, announced by President Trump, is portrayed as a major victory for the US, with the EU's agreement to purchase $750 billion of American energy over three years, although the specifics and implications for both economies remain unclear and subject to further negotiation.

The context of this trade agreement is set against a backdrop of escalating trade tensions, with the EU initially hoping for a 10% baseline tariff similar to the US-UK deal, but facing a threat of a 30% tariff if no agreement was reached, highlighting the high stakes and strategic maneuvering in international trade negotiations. 

In the last several posts, I have mentioned that we are seeing the activation of the March 14 South Node lunar eclipse in Virgo by transit Mars. For Brussels, the eclipse is not only in Virgo but also in the 6^th house both of which are traditionally related to “servants”. And if we progress the eclipse chart to July 27, we will find that the progressed horizon aligns with the eclipse axis thereby triggering it once again.

 

The bedrock of evolutionary astrological theory: the south node of the Moon represents the gravity of old habits which are holding us back, while the north node symbolizes the remedy that can liberate us. We can go further. Virgo is often seen as “the sign of the servant.” There are beautiful dimensions to that symbolism, such as the urge to be competent at something that is helpful to other people. But as ever, there is a dark side to that same symbolism as well. To be “a servant” is to be placed in a subordinate position. Someone is giving us orders. Some social structure is holding us down. In a prior life, was your existence ever defined by other people’s decisions? Were you treated as a utility rather than as a person? 

Ominously, the south node transiting through Virgo also warns that you might slip into the same old self-limiting patterns, projecting them onto your circumstances even if they are not really relevant. As always, mindfulness is the path to liberation. 

The takeaway? Stand up for yourself. If a tyrant appears in your life, don’t knuckle under the tyranny. Don’t accept it. Walk away from the situation or the relationship. You have that power. You are fully capable of dealing with the consequences. Steven Forrest
