In recent days, one alarming report after another has emerged about the European economies. The political elites and their mouthpieces, the mainstream media, can no longer ignore it. Things are not going well—and that is putting it mildly. The situation is bad and will get worse. This is something some of us had anticipated for quite some time, and alert economists have been saying and warning about.

Deucalion, like Varuna, carries the mythology of waters. Perhaps total cleansing is implied by Deucalion. When toxicity, negativity and ill-willed behavior prevails, the time for the ultimate spiritual bath appears. Symbolically, any water or cleansing ritual bears an affiliation with Deucalion. In a more dense manner, Deucalion brings about necessary destruction followed byresurrection, as seen by the cycle of nature’s floods and following regeneration of plants.  

Reverting to the mundane associations of the Capricorn perihelion and Taurus node, the essence of economic justice gains importance. Any situation of economic exploitation comes to light. In the months preceding the naming of Deucalion, certainly many corporations and executives went under (a water term) for their financial manipulations. Perhaps Deucalion brings about the foretold economic revisions (or collapse of capitalistic and socialistic ways) in the interest of a economically supportive world at large.
