Superintelligence - a tool for manipulative control?

Hundreds of people, from conservative commentators to prominent tech executives, have signed a letter seeking a ban on “the development of superintelligence.” This year, leading technology firms such as Google, Meta Platforms, and OpenAI have accelerated efforts to build artificial intelligence (AI) systems capable of outperforming humans across a broad spectrum of elementary and complex tasks. A growing chorus of prominent people thinks that it is time to hit the brakes—at least temporarily.

The "Statement on Superintelligence" was publicly released on October 22, 2025 (a Wednesday). No specific time is mentioned in announcements or coverage, but given the timing of major media reports (e.g., TIME at 21:01 PDT on October 21, which equates to early October 22 UTC), it likely occurred around 04:00–06:00 UTC on October 22. The place of publication is online via the Future of Life Institute (FLI), a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco, California, USA.

The statement is a concise, 30-word call for prohibiting superintelligence development until there's scientific consensus on safe, controllable implementation and strong public support. It highlights risks like economic displacement, loss of freedoms, national security threats, and existential dangers (up to human extinction), while noting the rapid pace of AI progress.I appreciate the intent: it's a wake-up call to prioritize safety over speed in an AI race that's often driven by commercial incentives. Unchecked superintelligence could indeed amplify inequalities or lead to unintended catastrophes if alignment fails.

In this post we shall see how the September 21 solar eclipse at San Francisco, California gives us a hint of the issue and the possible problems ahead. First notice that it is very significant for the place since it aligns perfectly with the meridian.

Bernadette Brady, a leading modern astrologer specializing in visual and predictive astrology, revived the ancient technique of parans (short for paranatellonta, meaning "paranella" or "things rising with") in her seminal work Brady's Book of Fixed Stars (1998). She drew from Hellenistic and earlier traditions, such as those of Ptolemy and Egyptian astronomy, to reintroduce parans as a core method for integrating fixed stars into natal charts. Parans occur when a fixed star and a planet simultaneously reach one of the four celestial "angles" (rising/Ascendant, culminating/Midheaven, setting/Descendant, or nadir/IC) due to Earth's rotation, forming a dynamic, location-specific connection that blends stellar mythology with planetary energies.

Brady argues that parans represent the "original way" ancient astrologers (e.g., Babylonians, Egyptians, and Greeks) observed and used stars—through direct visual skywatching rather than projecting stars onto the ecliptic (the zodiac band). Parans are highly sensitive to location and date (time is less critical), yielding unique, insights.

While the eclipse is conjunct in ecliptic longitude to the stars Benatnash  and Zavijava, at San Francisco,it is in paran aspect to the star Betelgeuse. About this area of stars Nick Fiorenza notes:

Betelgeuse, Alpha Orion is conjunct a high-energy dynamic x-ray source in Columba, sometimes called The Machine [1] , in an area that is referred to as the Gate of Man (around 2° -5 ° ) sidereal Gemini, directly opposite the longitude of Galactic Center in early Sagittarius. The Machine emits energy through a wide band of the electromagnetic spectrum, from radio waves to gamma-rays but with an almost complete absence of emissions in the optical band. Appropriately named, the Machine articulates the essence of the human cognitive mind, the intellect, which processes logistical related matters for humankind, the bio-logical process itself—in contrast to Galactic Center’s essence, that of cosmic mind. As the genesis point of the human mind, the Machine’s intense dynamic core excites high-mental creative communication and new ideas that can propel humanity forward into a fulfilling and prosperous.

So quite clearly, the eclipse is referring to AI. Examining the stars Benatnash and Zavijava [2] that are conjunct the eclipse in ecliptic longitude on the MC reveals a possible dark side to this push for superintelligence. Fiorenza associates these stars with leaders attempting to control and manipulate the masses.

Stars carry "sacred stories" from global myths, which parans activate at key earthly moments (the angles). Weaving the stories behind Benatnash and Columba, we begin to see that the motives behind promoting superintelligence may be very dark indeed!
