Kronos Meets Hades: Mohenjo-daro and the Ancient Society That Shrunk the Wealth Gap

New research reveals that the 4,000-year-old city of Mohenjo-daro defied the ‘rules’ of history by becoming more equal as it became more successful.

Here is the chart for the Waxing Crescent Moon of May 20, 2026 just two days after the article was published. Sun-Uranus on the IC semisquare the Moon which is conjunct the TNPs Kronos-Hades

There is a fascinating synchronicity between the University of York research on Mohenjo-daro (published around May 18, 2026) and this waxing crescent Moon chart for May 20 in York.

The Article Context: The study highlights how this ~4,000-year-old Indus Valley city grew prosperous while the wealth gap between its largest and smallest homes narrowed significantly—contrary to the common historical pattern where inequality rises with urbanization and complexity. It suggests a society that achieved a form of relative equality or balance amid growth.

Uranian/Hamburg School symbolism using Trans-Neptunian Points (TNPs): Moon conjunct Kronos-Hades. Kronos often symbolizes the "highest" — authority, excellence, elites, government, or peak achievement. Hades represents the "lowest" — the underworld, depths, the common/mundane, decay, the past, or the marginalized. Their conjunction (or close proximity) can symbolize the meeting or equalization of high and low, elites and masses, or the integration of extremes. This mirrors the article's theme of a society where the gap between "highest" and "lowest" shrank.

Sun-Uranus on the IC (4th cusp), semisquare the Moon: The IC (Imum Coeli) can refer to the historical past. Uranus here brings unconventional structures—often linked to egalitarian or "Aquarian" ideals of equality, breaking hierarchies. A semisquare to the Moon adds tension or activation, potentially symbolizing an emotional or collective "birth" (waxing crescent) of these themes.

Additionally, the Sun-Uranus conjunction on the IC is square the Nodes. The South Node(behaviour patterns to outgrow) is on the star Thuban of Draco - the greedy and controlling dragon while the North Node (the way forward) is conjunct the star Fomalhaut linked to humanitarian urges and the desire to care for the underprivileged. The apex of the T-square on the 4th cusp (history) is hinting at a civilization that had probably achieved this!

The crescent Moon chart is a symbolic "chart" for the story emerging — a historical example of a society operating on more egalitarian ("Aquarian"/Uranian) principles, where high and low were not so divided. The timing with the Moon phase and location (York, tying back to the university) adds a poetic layer for those who follow such correspondences. The crescent Moon photo is a nice visual touch — waxing crescent often symbolizes new growth or emerging ideas, fitting for research "shedding light" on an ancient civilization.
