Venus Retrograde

Venus stations retrograde on October 3, 2026 (around 8°29′ Scorpio), stations direct around November 13–14 (at ~22°51–52′ Libra), and clears its retrograde shadow zone around mid-December (reaching back to ~8°29′ Scorpio). The full period of relevance (pre-shadow through post-shadow) runs roughly late August to mid-December 2026.

“Review and introspection in love, values, money, and self-worth. Venus retrograde is classically a time to reassess rather than launch major new relationships, engagements, big purchases, or dramatic image changes. Old partners, unfinished relationship business, or past patterns often resurface for closure, renegotiation, or clearer insight. It favors self-love, deeper intimacy work, and clarifying what you truly value”. (astrologyking.com)

“Scorpio phase (roughly Oct 3–25): intensity, depth, and transformation. Expect buried emotions, trust issues, power dynamics, shared resources/finances, desire, and psychological honesty to surface. Superficial harmony may not hold; relationships can feel magnetic, compulsive, or probing. Scorpio does not stay on the surface”. (astrobella.com)

Venus reaches its inferior conjunction with the Sun on 23 October at [0sc45]. At this time it will be conjunct the star Miaplacidus of Argo Navis [2sc18].

Miaplacidus and Argo Navis carry a rich legacy in fixed-star astrology. The constellation of the Ship (later subdivided) classically signifies voyages and long journey and navigating new territories. Modern interpreters like Diana Rosenberg and Nick Fiorenza connect these stars to relocation, and following cosmic currents to environments that better support growth and evolution. A ship leaves port when staying is no longer viable—or when a better horizon calls.

About Venus retrograde Dane Rudhyar writes:

“The cycle of Venus begins during its retrograde period, signifying a phase of renewal and reorientation of feelings, emotions and values. It is a time when the future attempts to free itself from the past, clearing the way for the development of a new set of values and a new emotional sense. But attempts to fight or rebel against the past and its values and morality can bind us to the very things from which we seek to free ourselves.”

The Mars–Pluto connection and hard aspects

Venus retrograde kicks off (or coincides closely with) intense fixed-sign tensions involving Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius:Mars opposite Pluto is exact or very close around early October (near the Venus station).

Venus forms squares to both (creating or reinforcing a T-square), with notable peaks such as Venus square Mars earlier in the retrograde and Venus square Pluto around mid-to-late October (e.g., ~Oct 19–20).

These are likely to dredge up challenging material from the past, heightening power struggles, provocations, irritability, control issues, or explosive emotional/relational dynamics. Fights, compulsive feelings, or confrontations over resources, survival fears, or manipulation can arise.

The entire Venus retrograde period is transformative rather than purely “bad”—an opportunity for deeper honesty about what (and who) you value, even if the process involves confrontation or emotional intensity, especially while the Mars–Pluto square/opposition energy is active. Individual experiences depend heavily on how these degrees and planets interact with a personal natal chart.
