A short video [1] of a kindergarten hand-holding game recently circulated widely. Boys and girls line up facing each other; partners are chosen one by one. Most children pair quickly and casually. One boy in a yellow plaid shirt stands apart. Arms crossed, expression serious, he turns away or shakes his head at several approaching girls. He is clearly waiting for someone specific. When the girl he has in mind finally steps forward, his whole demeanour softens and they join hands. Netizens laughed, some saying they half-hoped to see him left alone. Others recognised something deeper: a small, pure example of selective affection and quiet insistence on the “right” match.
The video was posted on 12 October 2026 at 23:15:17 UT from a Hong Kong account. In the natal chart for that moment, Venus and Mars (classic significators of girl and boy, attraction and pairing) sit prominently on the angles and form aspects to Pluto. Pluto here speaks of what feels true at the level of the inner being — integrity, the non-negotiable core of the self. The configuration underscores a moment in which authentic relating is highlighted rather than casual or socially convenient pairing.
Just two days earlier, on 10 October 2026, a New Moon occurred at 17° Libra, the sign of partnership, balance, and one-to-one relating. The New Moon is conjunct certain fixed stars and deep-sky points, including Psi Virginis and a quasar/black-hole region associated with Coma Berenices (Berenice’s Hair). It also participates in a tense pattern involving the hypothetical planets Hades and Kronos opposite Cupido. One workable reading of Hades–Kronos–Cupido is a partnership (Cupido) that experiences conventional rules or formal expectations of relating (Kronos) as somehow diminishing, awkward, or out of alignment with deeper truth (Hades). The configuration can describe a preference for what feels genuine over what merely looks correct according to external standards.
A relocated version of the same New Moon set for San Bruno, California, produces a different angular structure, as expected from the change in longitude, yet the planetary picture and the Libra New Moon remain. The Hong Kong posting chart and the New Moon charts together emphasise themes of selective relating, felt rightness, and the quiet authority of inner recognition.
The stellar connection to Coma Berenices invites the classical story. Berenice II, queen of Egypt and wife of Ptolemy III, vowed to the goddess Aphrodite that if her husband returned safely from war she would cut off her famous long hair and dedicate it as an offering. He returned. She kept her promise. When the lock vanished from the temple the next day, the court astronomer Conon of Samos pointed to a faint cluster of stars and declared that the gods had been so pleased they had placed Berenice’s hair in the heavens. The constellation Coma Berenices still bears her name.
Berenice was already married; her “waiting” was the anxious, devoted waiting of a partner for the safe return of her beloved, sealed by a personal sacrifice of beauty and status. The myth is one of loyalty, vow-keeping, and the elevation of a heartfelt act into something lasting and visible to all.
Placed beside the kindergarten video, the charts, and the New Moon symbolism, a coherent thread appears. The little boy who refused random partners and waited only for the girl who felt right to him, Berenice who fulfilled a vow of devotion, the Libra New Moon under a marriage-ceremony Sabian, and the Venus–Mars–Pluto emphasis on authentic pairing all point in a similar direction: the quiet power of choosing (or waiting for) what resonates with the inner being rather than settling for convenience, social expectation, or the first available option.
Whether one frames that resonance as “soul mate,” integrity in relating, or simply knowing what is true for oneself, the message is gentle yet clear. Some connections are not interchangeable. Sometimes the most radical act is to stand still, arms crossed if necessary, until the right hand reaches out.

PS
Archturus of Bootes and Spica of the Virgin have been referred to as soul mates. In this image one can clearly see Coma Bernice just above the Virgin with Bootes to the right. This is not clear in the first image which shows Bootes and Coma Bernice together
