On 24 October 2026 the bodies of Rocky Kumar Mandal and Nazia Khatoon were found on the railway tracks between Vidyasagar and Madankata stations in Jamtara, Jharkhand. An interfaith couple who had faced years of family and community opposition, they left behind an Instagram video in which their hands were bound together with a blue cloth and a plea was voiced: “Do not separate this bond of ours. Wherever you bury us… do it together.”
The first press reports appeared around midday at 12:25 IST. A chart for this time at the approximate coordinates of the site (24°N07′, 86°E42′) shows a striking configuration: Pluto at 3° Aquarius opposite Transneptunian Vulcanus at 5° Leo, straddling the horizon and squared by the exact Sun–Venus conjunction at 0° Scorpio.
In an earlier post [1] on the Venus synod I wrote of Alrischa, the knot that ties the two fishes of Pisces together — “the primordial past articulated as neurological and psychic tension that seeks resolution… the bond that ties our past with our future.” Mirach, Beta Andromedae, speaks of a bond of strength and the desire of two people to become something greater than either could alone. In this case the upright (western) fish could not leap clear of the water; the eastern fish succeeded in “drowning” the love couple.
Martha Wescott’s delineation of Venus/Pluto/Vulcanus is painfully apt: “powerful attractions” between people; “tests” that force confrontation with psychological scars; the recognition that people “in love” can destroy or redeem each other — and for a time it is almost impossible to tell one from the other. The search is for authenticity and intimacy, the “real” thing. Here the intensity of that search met forces that would not yield.
On the same day Mercury stationed retrograde at 20°58′ Scorpio, conjunct the Midheaven of the accident-site chart. Its Sabian symbol is Phase 231 (Scorpio 21°): “Obeying his conscience, a soldier resists orders.” The keynote is readiness to face the consequences of refusing the authoritarian patterns of an aggressive society. The individual asserts personal values and must quietly accept whatever follows.
Sun, Venus and Mercury were all in Scorpio, ruled by Mars at 14°39′ Leo. The Sabian for that degree (Leo 14°) reads: “A human soul seeking opportunities for outward manifestation.” The yearning for self-actualization becomes so urgent that when avenues remain blocked, dramatic release follows — which may be joyous carnival or madness. In this instance it led to tragedy.
Saturn at 9° Aries (ruler of the Ascendant and of Pluto in both charts) carries the Sabian Phase 10 (Aries 10°): “A teacher gives new symbolic forms to traditional images.” Revision of attitude at the beginning of a new cycle; the capacity to reformulate emotional drives and cultural values that once excluded far more than they included. A new dimension of consciousness becomes possible — abstraction and a wider emotional allegiance.
What, then, is this tragedy teaching us?
It is teaching us that the knot of the past — familial, communal, religious — is not easily undone by individual will alone. When two souls attempt to rewrite an old script while the collective still insists on the traditional wording, the tension can become lethal. The charts do not “cause” the deaths; they describe the quality of the moment in which an already fragile human situation reached its breaking point.
They remind us that authenticity exacted at the price of life is still authenticity, yet it leaves the living with an unfinished conversation. The parents, the village, the wider society are now forced to confront the very scars and rigidities the couple could no longer endure. In that forced confrontation lies the only possible redemption the symbolism offers: the chance to give “new symbolic forms to traditional images,” so that future pairs need not choose between love and survival.
May the bond they asked to keep unbroken be honoured in memory, and may the rest of us learn to loosen the knot before it tightens into tragedy again.

Cosmic Warnings Unheeded: The Astrology of Spain’s Deadly High-Speed Train Crash
https://javed22.blogspot.com/2026/10/cosmic-warnings-unheeded-astrology-of.html
If we compare the charts for the exact Sun-Pluto square in the Jamtara tragedy with the same chart for the Spain crash we find the associated Grand Cross on the meridian in both cases.
Is the message similar?
“Two days earlier, the Full Moon of 26 October had formed an almost exact square to Pluto. The chart for the precise Sun–Pluto square shows the Sun–Moon axis aligned with the meridian
and locked in a hard aspect to Pluto. Full Moons bring matters to culmination and exposure. When that culmination is squared by Pluto, the exposure is rarely gentle. Power structures, buried failures, and collective shadow
material are dragged into the light — often through crisis”.
