When the Crow Rose and the King’s Head Spoke: The Full Moon of 26 October 2026 and the Lightning Minds of Crows
On 22 October 2026 the journal Science published a remarkable study [1] from the University of Tübingen: carrion crows can process visual information and make deliberate decisions roughly twice as fast as humans or monkeys — in about 235 milliseconds — without sacrificing accuracy. Four days later, the Full Moon of 26 October rose over Tübingen itself. The chart cast for that moment is one of those rare celestial signatures that feels almost too precise to be accidental.
The Ascendant stands at 12° Libra, right in the heart of Corvus, the Crow (or Raven). The principal stars of the constellation — Gienah, Minkar, Alchiba, Algorab — occupy this stretch of the zodiac. At the exact time and place of the research that revealed the crow’s extraordinary cognitive speed, the Crow itself was rising.
Opposite the Ascendant, Saturn sits at 9° Aries on the Descendant, tightly conjunct Erakis (μ Cephei), better known as the Garnet Star. This deep-red supergiant lies in the head of Cepheus the King. According to the extensive research of fixed-star specialist Diana K. Rosenberg, stars in the head of Cepheus are strongly linked with intellectual brilliance, new knowledge, original discoveries, and high-level scientific or mathematical achievement. Saturn’s presence here adds gravity, structure, and lasting authority: this is not a fleeting curiosity but a finding that will endure in the scientific record.
On the Midheaven we find the Uranian pair Hades and Kronos. Hades represents the lowly, the overlooked, the underestimated — the old dismissive label “bird-brain.” Kronos elevates, confers excellence, and places something on the highest pedestal. Together they announce a clear cultural shift: what was once regarded as inferior is now publicly raised to a position of recognised sophistication and superiority.
The Full Moon itself acts as a classic moment of illumination, casting maximum light on the discovery in the very city where it was made. Rising Crow, Saturn–Erakis (the King’s brilliant head) on the angle of relationship and recognition, and Hades/Kronos elevating the formerly lowly on the Midheaven — the chart reads like a celestial press release for one of the most striking demonstrations of avian intelligence in recent years.
In the language of the fixed stars, the message is elegant and unambiguous: the crow has taken its place among the quickest minds we know, and the King himself has nodded in approval.
