Herakles and Pholus getting wine from large underground Pythos India's Supreme Court has stayed a law banning dance bars in the western state of Maharashtra and its capital Mumbai, allowing them to reopen. Maharashtra passed the law last year after the top court overturned an earlier ban by the state government. The state government first banned dance bars in 2005, saying they "corrupted young people and were a front for crime and prostitution". Bar owners and dancers had bitterly protested against the ban. Before the ban, more than 100,000 women were employed in some 1,400 dance bars in the state. The women would dance to Bollywood numbers and clients often threw money at them. In Glen Feshie there stand Scots Pines more than 300 years old, and in their youth they may have been marked by wolves. It is beguiling to think that now, camped beneath them, boiling up water for morning coffee. Last year I walked 200 miles across the Highlands to see how those that lived there would feel about the reintroduction of the wolf. October 12, 2015 "Information Clearing House" - Tyler Durden of Zero Hedge and others are misinterpreting Steve Kroft’s “60 Minutes” interview with President Obama. They see weakness and confusion in Obama’s responses and conclude that Kroft shredded Obama. What I see is entirely different. Steve Kroft is either a neoconservative or he is inculcated into the neocon mind-set that the US must prevail everywhere. Kroft’s view is that weakness and indecision on Obama’s part is the reason the US is not prevailing in Syria. Kroft’s purpose is to embarrass Obama and push him into escalating the situation. Restorers are at work on King Tutankhamun’s beard, Egypt’s state-run news agency MENA said. According to the report, the restoration began on Saturday and is being carried out by a German-Egyptian team of restorers led by specialist Christian Eckmann. “Tutankhamun’s mask has been transferred from its exhibition hall to another room in the museum that has been turned into a restoration laboratory,” antiquities department spokeswoman Mushira Mussa told Middle East online.The intervention takes place more than a year after the long, narrow, blue and gold beard suffered a botched repair. As we do so, we remember those who suffered and died as a result the fire's mass destruction, as well as the city's struggle to rise from its ashes. The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 is truly one of our country's greatest tragedies. By the time the last remaining flames flickered out, the fire had claimed 300 lives and decimated four square miles-more than 2,000 acres-of heavily populated land. Two explosions have hit a peace rally in the Turkish capital Ankara, causing multiple casualties, reports say. Turkish news agency Dogan said that at least 20 people have been killed. Photos posted on social media show a number of bodies at the scene. The blasts took place near the city's central train station.
