Laughing Monks On 26 October 2026 a Full Moon chart cast for coordinates near the Swiss-Italian border (46°12′ N, 8°29′ E) -  from where the video [1]  was uploaded -  produced a strikingly coherent picture of spontaneous joy breaking through solemn forms.  The Ascendant falls at 11° Libra 47′. In 2026 this tropical degree sits firmly inside the nakshatra Hasta (tropical span approximately 184°13′–197°33′). Hasta means “hand,” yet one of its most vivid classical associations is laughter — quick, skillful, playful expression that arises almost of its own accord. The IC stands at 14° Capricorn 28′, only a degree and a half from Capricorn 16°. Dane Rudhyar’s Sabian Symbol for that degree reads: “School grounds filled with boys and girls in gymnasium suits.” Keynote: The need for physical activity and play, especially in adolescence. Already the angles of the chart speak of laughter and unselfconscious physical play. Then come the Transneptunian planets. ...

On 24 October 2026 at 07:12 UT, Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio. The chart cast for London places the Sun and Venus together at 0° Scorpio, tightly conjunct the Ascendant at 5° Scorpio, with the Trans-Neptunian planet Apollon nearby at 7° Scorpio. This stellium squares Pluto at 3° Aquarius. Higher in the sky, Mars and Jupiter meet near the Midheaven while squaring the stationing Mercury and Poseidon in Scorpio. The symbolism is vivid and timely. Sun–Venus on the Ascendant speaks of a search for new values and a renewed sense of self-worth. Apollon adds the note of expansion and the quest for wider horizons. Square Pluto, the combination becomes transformative: the old value system must undergo a profound healing crisis so that something larger and freer can emerge. It is the alchemy of psychological death and rebirth applied to what we love, what we believe is beautiful, and what we hold as true. Mars conjunct Jupiter on the Midheaven shows action and expansion meeting in th...

“What makes astrology supremely relevant is that it discloses an unsuspected dimension of the world we think we know so well. It is as though we have become accustomed to see only the horizontal yarn of the weaving, the weft, and are largely unaware of the warp… In this system objects and events that at first sight appear to have nothing whatever to do with each other are shown to be intimately connected.   As the shuttle of the cosmic loom ceaselessly weaves its intricate design, astrologers have the responsibility, or rather the awesome privilege, to work towards restoring to humanity the sense of high meaning it has all but lost.”   - Dennis Elwell Beavers busy in restoring the primordial wild On 26 October 2026, the Full Moon at 3° Taurus opposed the Sun at 3° Scorpio, with both luminaries tightly square Pluto at 3° Aquarius. Most striking of all, the Sun stood in exact conjunction with the dwarf planet Haumea . This T-square, set against the backdrop of a chart calcul...

In 1941, as the world plunged deeper into totalitarian darkness, the psychoanalyst and social philosopher Erich Fromm published Escape from Freedom (also known as The Fear of Freedom ). The book remains one of the most penetrating analyses of modern mass psychology. Fromm argued that the historical process of individualization had freed people from traditional bonds of medieval society, yet this new freedom brought isolation, anxiety, and a sense of powerlessness. Rather than embracing the responsibility of true autonomy, many sought to escape freedom itself — through submission to authoritarian leaders, conformity to the crowd, or destructive mechanisms that dissolve the self. The astrological signatures surrounding the book’s year of publication offer a striking celestial mirror of its themes. The 1941 Solar Return Fromm’s 1941 solar return (Sun returning to its natal degree on 23 March) places Neptune tightly on the Ascendant in Virgo, forming a trine to Uranus in the 9th h...

In early October 2026 the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report drew attention to a quiet but striking rise in detections of Cladophialophora bantiana , a rare neurotropic fungus that produces brain abscesses and carries a historical fatality rate of 60–70 %. Between 2009 and mid-2026 a single national reference laboratory recorded 48 confirmed cases and one probable case; annual numbers remained in the single digits until 2024–2025, when detections roughly quadrupled. Most specimens came from central-nervous-system tissue, the median patient was 68 years old, and roughly half of those infected had no known immunosuppression. The environmental reservoir and exact route of infection remain incompletely understood. Against this public-health backdrop, the slow-moving sky of 2026–27 offers an arresting parallel for students of mundane astrology. Transiting Saturn is moving through [13ar-16ar]  forming a prolonged square with the hypothetical Trans-Neptunian Planet H...

On the evening of 27 August 2026, a deep partial lunar eclipse unfolded over North America. Cast for Redmond, Washington — home of Microsoft’s global headquarters — the chart offers a striking example of how eclipse symbolism can describe corporate events months in advance.   In the eclipse chart (21:18 PDT), the Sun and Mercury sit together in the 6th house. In mundane astrology the 6th house rules employees, daily work, and the workforce itself. These two planets form a clear square to Uranus in Gemini. Uranus is the traditional significator of technology, computers, sudden disruption, and unexpected change. The combination points directly to a sudden or restructuring event affecting the staff of a major technology company. Sixty days later, on 26 October 2026, Microsoft announced a large-scale Voluntary Exit Offer open to approximately 60,000 employees — roughly a quarter of its global workforce. The secondary progressed chart (Q2 Mean Quotidian method) of the eclipse, cal...

On 24 October 2026 the bodies of Rocky Kumar Mandal and Nazia Khatoon were found on the railway tracks between Vidyasagar and Madankata stations in Jamtara, Jharkhand. An interfaith couple who had faced years of family and community opposition, they left behind an Instagram video in which their hands were bound together with a blue cloth and a plea was voiced: “Do not separate this bond of ours. Wherever you bury us… do it together.” The first press reports appeared around midday at 12:25 IST. A chart for this time at the approximate coordinates of the site (24°N07′, 86°E42′) shows a striking configuration: Pluto at 3° Aquarius opposite Transneptunian Vulcanus at 5° Leo, straddling the horizon and squared by the exact Sun–Venus conjunction at 0° Scorpio. In an earlier post  [1] on the Venus synod I wrote of Alrischa, the knot that ties the two fishes of Pisces together — “the primordial past articulated as neurological and psychic tension that seeks resolution… the bond th...

On the morning of 28 October 2026, two high-speed trains collided near Urda in Toledo province, south of Madrid. The Renfe AVE slammed into the rear of a stationary Iryo train. Dozens lost their lives; many more were injured. The event was immediately labelled an “accident.” Yet in the language of the sky, few events are truly accidental. The chart cast for the moment of impact (28 October 2026, 07:54 UT, 39°N26′, 003°W49′) is stark. Mercury, retrograde and almost stationary, sits precisely on the Ascendant in Scorpio and squares Mars. This is a classic signature of transportation disasters: communication, signalling, or mechanical judgement under extreme pressure, colliding with raw force and haste. Mercury stationing on the Ascendant marks a critical threshold in collective perception and decision-making; the square to Mars turns that threshold into a point of violent rupture. Two days earlier, the Full Moon of 26 October had formed an almost exact square to Pluto. The chart for ...

On 26 October 2026 an X-post [1] circulated a poignant chapter from the life of Sun Liren, the celebrated Chinese general known for his service in the War of Resistance Against Japan. The anecdote centers on a quiet domestic crisis: his wife Zhang Jingying could not bear children. Guided by traditional expectations of continuing the family line, she arranged for the household nurse, Zhang Meiying, to become her husband’s companion. Four children were born of that union. When Sun was later placed under house arrest for 33 years, Zhang Meiying sustained the family through hardship by raising chickens and growing vegetables, while Zhang Jingying withdrew into Buddhist practice. Remarkably, none of the four children followed their father into the military or politics; all pursued advanced careers in science and technology—materials science at TSMC and IBM, physics in Silicon Valley, semiconductors in Shanghai, and biochemistry at Duke University. The timing of the post (13:05 UT / 08:0...
