Duterte’s Power Play: Rocking the US-Philippines Alliance

The frictions excited by the antics of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte have caused even greater heat over the last few days, with calls for the departure of US special forces operating in Mindanao. Having already made it clear to Washington that he intends pursuing “an independent foreign policy,” he has now insisted that the general root of ills in instability lie in the troublesome, headache-causing alliance with the United States. A continuing problem of that alliance remained US forces in Zamboanga on the island of Mindanao, ostensibly engaged in advising local troops on counter-terrorism operations.  “For as long as we stay with America, we will never have peace in that land [Mindanao].  We might as well give it up.”  It was therefore imperative that “those [American] special forces, they have to go.”  He did not want “a rift with the US, but they have to go.” September 14th, 2016  http://dissidentvoice.org/2016/09/dutertes-power-play-rocking-t...

Cameron slammed over Libya in new report

LONDON -- Former British Prime Minister David Cameron launched a bombing campaign in Libya based on "erroneous assumptions" and failed to adequately plan for the aftermath, according to a damning parliamentary report released on Wednesday. The Foreign Affairs Committee analyzed Britain's decision-making in the run up to its intervention alongside France in 2011, which the government said at the time was aimed at protecting civilians under fire from dictator Moamer Kadhafi. "It (the government) could not verify the actual threat to civilians posed by the Gaddafi (Kadhafi) regime; it selectively took elements of Muammar Gaddafi's rhetoric at face value; and it failed to identify the militant Islamist extremist element in the rebellion," lawmakers said in their report. "UK strategy was founded on erroneous assumptions and an incomplete understanding of the evidence," the report added. Nearly five years after Kadhafi was ousted and killed, chaos co...

Saturn-Neptune square uncovers academic fraud

As nutrition debates raged in the 1960s, prominent Harvard nutritionists published two reviews in a top medical journal downplaying the role of sugar in coronary heart disease. Newly unearthed documents reveal what they didn’t say: A sugar industry trade group initiated and paid for the studies, examined drafts, and laid out a clear objective to protect sugar’s reputation in the public eye. That revelation, published Monday in JAMA Internal Medicine, comes from Dr. Cristin Kearns at the University of California, San Francisco, a dentist-turned-researcher who found the sugar industry’s fingerprints while digging through boxes of letters in the basement of a Harvard library.  Sept 13 https://goo.gl/448ssa Sufferers of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) are not getting the proper treatment. The standard approach these days is cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)—known as the ‘talking therapy’, which implies the problem is mainly in the sufferer’s head—but this is based on a land...

Neuro Disorders In The Oval Office

Believe the Chart… Charts are true. Utterly. With a precision that can stun. -Martha Wescott Thomas Jefferson probably suffered from migraines. Woodrow Wilson had a devastating stroke while in office. FDR was known to have seizure-like blank-outs. And Ronald Reagan’s own family is still arguing about whether he had signs of Alzheimer’s during his time in the Oval Office. The health of presidents is a perennially intriguing subject. But this Presidents Day weekend, a New York neurologist is focusing new attention on the presidential disorders that arguably matter most: those of the brain and central nervous system. Feb 13, 2015; http://www.wbur.org/commonhealth/2015/02/13/presidential-neurologic-disorders When this article was written, the author probably had no idea that a year and half  later the mental health of a candidate for the Presidential office would be a cause of concern. To understand the reason behind  (a)  Hillary’s d...

Lunar Eclipse and the US Sibly

In his now famous research Michel Gauquelin showed that planets within 10 degrees on either side of the Ascendant and Midheaven were extremely powerful [1]. In the US Sibly, Neptune [22vi25] falls in the Gauquelin sector. Since the 10 th house of a national chart indicates the leaders of a country, Neptune here is telling us something about the leaders. Moreover, it is conjunct the star Alkaid [23vi46], eta (η) Ursa Major.  About this star Nick Fiorenza writes: Alkaid is the Arabic name for Benetnash , and means "the leader," perhaps alluding to its tendency to produce self-proclaimed leaders. Benetnash expresses the old dictatorial and totalitarian stream of consciousness that was predominant when Earth's polar alignment was tilted (had fallen) furthest from the galactic plane in Earth's great precessional year (about 6000 years ago). Thus Benetnash is of this long-established totalitarian governing paradigm—generally of a patriarchal nature. Benetnas...

WADA Leak Exposes US Athletics’ Hypocrisy

A hacktivist group claims it has uncovered files that show top American athletes including Serena Williams and Simone Biles took banned substances - although their respective sporting federations responded by saying the athletes did not break any rules.  The allegations were published on the website of the hacktivist group Fancy Bear, which described the revelations as being "just the tip of the iceberg." The documents the group says it hacked from the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) files contain information that Serena Williams, one of the world's greatest ever tennis players, was taking a number of banned substances. https://goo.gl/gUXF3r The World Anti-Doping Agency  is a foundation created through a collective initiative led by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was set up on November 10, 1999 in Lausanne, Switzerland, as a result of what was called the "Declaration of Lausanne", to promote, coordinate and monitor th...

'How I caught my online scammer'

A cybersecurity researcher living in Austria who was scammed out of $500 (£375) says his money was returned after he tracked down the scammer's family and contacted them on Facebook. Christian Haschek's blog post about how he caught the thief has been viewed more than 100,000 times in five days. The scammer was using the same usernames elsewhere on the net, which made him easier to track down.  Sept 13 http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-37348014 Christian Haschek  posted his blog on September 8 just a day before the First Quarter Moon. At Vienna where Christain lives, the Moon phase has a prominent T-square straddling the horizon. The most important aspect of the T is the Saturn-Neptune square.  Simply put  Saturn-Neptune here means hard reality (Saturn) catching up with a fraudster (Neptune). The Sun is in Virgo – the sign linked with analytical skills the kind required in mathematics and computer programming. But in addition, the Sun is co...

Hunger drives US teens to swap sex for food

Zeus and Ganymede - Adolphe Thabard Hunger is driving desperate US teenagers as young as 13 to search for ways to feed themselves and their families, with many resorting to crime or providing sexual favors in exchange for food and basic supplies, according to a study published Monday. Researchers from the Urban Institute, a Washington-based economic and social policy research group, paired up with Feeding America – a US network of food banks – in an attempt to find out “how food insecurity affects teenagers.” Many described “selling their body” or “sex for money” as a way to get something to eat. “Often this takes the form of ‘transactional dating,’ meaning a teen regularly sees and has sex with someone, often a significantly older man, in exchange for meals, material goods, or cash,” researchers found.  Sept. 12 https://www.rt.com/news/359097-teens-sex-food-research/ Saturn-Neptune formed their third and last exact square on September 10 jus...

Putin appoints new children's rights ombudsman

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed the head of the association for the protection of family, Anna Kuznetsova, as his plenipotentiary for children’s rights, replacing lawyer Pavel Astakhov. Before the appointment, Kuznetsova, 34, worked as the head of the Pokrov fund for the support of family, motherhood and childhood in Penza Region, central Russia. She also headed the Penza regional branch of the Mothers of Russia movement and the regional branch of the United Public Front movement. The newly appointed ombudsman has also held places in the women’s council with the regional governor and the regional public chamber.  Sept.9 https://www.rt.com/politics/358781-head-of-family-association-for/ Events on earth are always a reflection of what is happening in the skies.  The solar eclipse of Sept.1 was amidst the stars of the cruel Lion and the nurturing Great Bear. Maya codex, long shrouded in controversy, proves genuine

The Grolier Codex, an ancient document that is among the rarest books in the world, has been regarded with skepticism since it was reportedly unearthed by looters from a cave in Chiapas, Mexico, in the 1960s. But a meticulous new study of the codex has yielded a startling conclusion: The codex is both genuine and likely the most ancient of all surviving manuscripts from ancient America.  The study, Houston said, “is a confirmation that the manuscript, counter to some claims, is quite real. The manuscript was sitting unremarked in a basement of the National Museum in Mexico City, and its history is cloaked in great drama.   Sept.7 http://news.brown.edu/articles/2016/09/mayacodex The worldview underlying astrology sees all of reality as symbolic in nature. To the symbolist, the heavenly bodies are threads within a great tapestry of affinities and correspondences. Thus even when an article is published, the symbolist can find important clues connecting the c...
