Construction work to upgrade Britain's longest road into a major highway has revealed a treasure trove of rare artifacts from one of the earliest and wealthiest Roman settlements in the country. The findings include ancient shoes, cups, a rare silver ring, keys, a high-relief glass bowl and an elaborately carved amber figurine, archaeologists with the public group Historic England announced yesterday (April 6). A lorry has smashed into a store in central Stockholm, killing at least three people, Swedish police say. Several people were also injured in the incident on Drottninggatan (Queen Street), one of the city's major pedestrian streets. Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said everything pointed to an act of terrorism and that one person had been arrested. He gave no details. The firm that owns the lorry said it had been hijacked earlier in the day. At least 58 people were killed in a horrific gas attack in the Idlib Governorate this morning. The US has carried out a missile strike against a Syrian air base in response to a suspected chemical weapons attack on a rebel-held town. Fifty-nine Tomahawk cruise missiles were fired from two US Navy ships in the Mediterranean. President Donald Trump said they hit the Shayrat base that launched Tuesday's attack. A MELBOURNE man has had both legs amputated, and faces a real risk of losing his arms, after he was bitten by a white-tailed spider in Western Victoria. Terry Pareja was visiting family in Birchip when he was bitten, but it wasn’t until his leg started to swell 24 hours later he realised something was wrong. There was no doctor available in the tiny town of 662 people — and by the time he sought medical help on Monday, flesh-eating bacteria had taken hold. His right leg was amputated in emergency surgery at Horsham, and he was flown to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne to have his left leg removed.
