New York police responded to a "mass stabbing" at an Orthodox rabbi's house in Monsey during Hanukkah celebrations late Saturday. The victims were transferred to the hospital. Two remain in critical condition, according to the Orthodox Jewish Public Affairs Council. Local police said the perpetrator fled the scene but that they were able to track him down. A plane with 100 people on board has crashed in Kazakhstan, airport officials say. They say the Bek Air aircraft went down shortly after taking off at Almaty airport on Friday morning local time. Emergency service personnel have rushed to the scene and seven deaths have been confirmed. Survivors are being evacuated, the airport said. The plane was en route from Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city, to the country's capital of Nur-Sultan. Almaty's airport said there were 95 passengers and five crew on board. A volcano has erupted in New Zealand, leaving one dead and several unaccounted for, police have said. Tourists were seen walking inside the rim of the White Island crater just moments before the eruption. Police said 23 people had been rescued, but warned the number of dead was "likely" to rise. A massive fire at a six-storey factory in Delhi’s Anaj Mandi has caused the deaths of at least 43 people so far. The fire was reported at around 5.22 am, following which 30 fire tenders were rushed to the spot in Anaj Mandi on Rani Jhansi Road in Delhi.
